We went up there and have a walked, took many pictures of course. I put some coins to see those panorama views from the top. Great walking exercise for my dog and me and our friends too.

You can see for miles. Oops I meant you can see for kilometres!What a view from on top. Easy to get too. Wheelchair would ok to base. There was a sign that they will perform Aida in September. That would be great to see.

Definitely a must see if you are in the area. Great view of the surrounding area also. You can see the monument for miles around.

Had a wonderful time visiting Germany, and seeing this monument was fantastic, you can see it from miles away, and once you get there, the views are fantastic

You have to see it only once ;). The wood around is interesting and the secret graves as well. You can spend a nice day outside.

This is a monumental monument that at 88 metres high can be seen from great distances across the Northern German plain and easily from the A2. However it's sheer size is only appreciated when you stand close to the statue and its canopy. Kaiser Wilhelm 1 of Prussia stands regally attired in both military uniform yet with his imperial robes, saluting across the 2nd German Reich. It is a truly impressive monument and affords the visitor who has the energy to walk the steep path to its base, great views across the plain. At 294.2 metres above sea level the views on a good day are as impressive as the statue and well worth the effort.

The Kaiser Wilhelm Monument is a unique monument that shouldn't be missed. The monument provides nice views over Minden and surrounding areas. There isn't really much to do up there except enjoy the view and snap some photos! There is no cost to view the monument up close.

Da soll im kommenden Jahr gebaut werden und weil in den Altmauern Fledermäuse ihr Winterquartier aufschlagen will man/frau diie durch diese Massnahme vergrätzen...

Bei schönem Wetter hat man eine tolle Sicht. Wer Lust hat kann von unten eine Wanderung machen, sollte aber Getränke oder etwas zum Essen nicht vergessen, oben gibt es nichts. (jedenfalls nicht als ich in der Woche dort war) Man kann jedoch mit dem Auto sehr hoch fahren (es gibt einen Parkplatz) dann sind es noch ca 10 Min.bis zum Denkmal zu gehen. Diese Sehenswürdigkeit kann man mit anderen Dingen in der Nähe verbinden z.B. in Minden die Schachtschleuse.

Памятник канцлеру германскому. Стоит на возвышенности, ехать по серпантину среди деревьев, а когда водитель еще и гонит, страшно становится. С площадки можно посомтреть на прилегающие города, минден, порт-вестфалика. машину можно сотавить не подалеку. Для прогулки с сеьей самое то.

Toll, wenn man noch eine Runde im direkt angrenzenden Wald spazieren geht...sehr romantisch - besonders im Frühling mit vielen tollen blühenden Waldblumen ( Adonisröschen, Sumpfdotterblumen, farbige Taubnesseln). Allerdings sollte man feste Schuhe mitnehmen (wg. Der Treppen am Denkmal & dem Waldbiden, der nach Regen ein bisschen glitschig ist)

Когда первый раз проезжал мимо Порт-Вестфалика, меня заинтриговало, что же это такое там на горе...Когда выдалось свободно время, решил съездить со знакомым. Памятник, конечно, монументален и величествен, но слишком уж сер. Вся композиция отдает готикой. Хотя может сказалось время года и погода (небольшой дождь в январе)))

Когда мой товарищ предложил мне посетить монумент кайзеру Вильгельму I, который находится на горе в городе с совершенно не немецким названием Порта-Вестфалика, я с радостью согласился, так как видел его, проезжая на машине и мог себе представить те красоты, которые открывались сверху. Сам памятник издалека чем-то напоминал монумент тому же Вильгельму I в Кобленце. Вверх к памятнику ведет автомобильная дорога, но в тот день она была закрыта из-за ремонта, поэтому единственным вариантом посещения было пешее восхождение. Оставив машину в максимально возможной ближайшей к памятнику точке, около театра Freilichtbühne Porta Westfalica, мы пошли через лес наверх. Путь занял от силы минут 15 и за разговором м не заметили, как оказались наверху. Сам памятник очень величественный, а со смотровой площадки перед памятником открываются великолепные виды на реку Везер, на город Минден, на равнины, поля и нижнесаксонские возвышенности. И хоть пребывание наверху у памятника было не очень долгим, но настроение от посещения монумента было великолепным!
