Very moving experience to see the damage done to the cathedral and the process of reconstructing. While some of the larger signage has English, most of the details are only in German. Well-worth a visit.
Very pretty church in central Nuremberg. Well worth a visit inside if you have the time. Great for photos from the outside.
Similar architecture and features to other churches I saw around Germany and Austria. No entry fee is charged and fewer tourists than the more famous churches.
This old church is situated in the middle of the old town an it is a very nice example of architecture.
This is a beautiful, ornate, imposing, historic, awe inspiring, towering, divine piece of architecture. Go see it if you are in Nuremberg.
A svelte medieval cathedral, destroyed in World War Two by Allied bombs and rebuilt latter. Much taller and larger than its catholic "counterpart" Frauenkirche, also a Gothic jewel situated nearby. If you love medieval religious symbolism you can admire the outside and inside sculptures of the church.
Note: Everything I am writing and wrote is my opinion, taste and experience only and could be different to others. The st. Lorenz church is nice church in the old city of Nurnberg. You could see it during walking in the old city. It's near the shopping houses. There are 2 ways to do there by walking and the Underground wich stop under the church The station name is Lorenz Kirche, it's mean Lorenz churge.
I have seen many chatedral all over europe. I dont know if this is just me but this one is one of the most beautifull chatedrale in europe. I was impressed the first year and I m still impressed even if i m coming in Nurnberg every year for 15th years already. I even spent some time to listen to the music played in the chatedrale, enyoyed a lot. My companion even buyed some CD for enyoy the music at home. What else to say I will attach one of my old photos for which I have wake up early and I hope did a proper work to give the right respect to such a breathtaking church!
Stopping at St. Lorenz Church is a must when visiting the old city of Nurnberg. Seeing the beautiful outside of the church does not prepare you for the beauty on display on the inside. It is more than you could ever imagine. You can feel the presence of holiness.
We have no idea how many of these there are but they can become repetitive if you visit many towns in Europe - everyone has one, or two, or threein fairness to this one it is a very good example of a German Gothic church and worth a visit if strolling around the wonderful city of Nuremberg
Free to pay as much you like upon entry. Stuffed with pieces of medieval art. Very cold inside, be well dressed :) Free to take photos, close access to artworks
Christmas Market is definitely worth a visit! However it was very crowded during the weekends...................................
Very serene and peaceful setting with load and loads of history. easy to find and access is free. a must see for travellers
This medieval church has a great atmosphere, beautiful stained glass windows and intricately carved pews.
The church itself is well worth the trip without the organ music, but the music will change the experience entirely. Explore the church - the first thing I discovered was a 15th century altar. There are such treasures all around the church. I went for a 2 hour organ concert (I think 15 euros/person with wine provided at intermission) and would go again in a heartbeat. Use caution in the winter however, the church is not heated. It was 32F/0C when I was there and I was OK with wool long underwear on but got chilly at the end.
