接着去St. Jacob's Church (St. Jakobskirche)、门票€4。(经验:a.
The wood carvings by local masters dating back to the 13th and 14th centuries are magnificent. The scenes from the "Coronation of Mary" are beautiful and intricate. The stained glass scenes and characters set into the windows are breathtaking. the fact that over 90% of the stained glass is original and date back over 500 years is incredible. A "must see" spot to visit in Rothenburg!
Woah. The blood alter incredible. What craftsmanship and depth in one piece of wood. Worth the entrance fee to marvel at it.
A beautiful Gothic church steeped in history and a testament to successful transition from Catholic to Protestant.
If you go, pay the two Euros for the audio tour, it adds to the experience. Pretty church and a little drawing table for young ones so they don't get bored.
I've dragged my family into a lot of churches in Europe, but even the 3 teens were impressed with the size/height and detail of the Riemenschneider woodcarving, which isn't on the main altar but is upstairs (yes you have to walk up, not sure if there's a lift) - amazing to think that someone cut all that out of wood. Nice that they have chairs in front so you can sit and gaze at it. So you don't mind paying a couple of Euros, in exchange for which you get a postcard of their Luther-window (stained glass), and they happily gave our teens the student price. Rest of the church also pretty, including lovely alterpiece that you can walk behind on the main altar/nave.
Must see for the woodcarvings by Riemenschneider. Very beautiful and very old. Small entrance fee but you get some free postcards in return.
The historical church was fabulous! We attended the family service and the children were so cute putting on the play. Just perfect!!
A unique church (1 of the only 3 in Germany that has a road through it!), housing a beautiful wood sculpture by Tilman Riemenschneider. There is an entrance fee, but it is worth it!
St. Jacob's Church was amazing and a very pleasant surprise. Based on reviews in a guide book, I dragged my family in to see the wood carving. There is a small entrance fee, which is unusual for a church and had my husband wondering why we were paying anything just to see inside. The small fee (student rates accepted for both my college kids) was so well worth it. The altar inside the church is amazing - serene, peaceful, and so beautiful. But the best part is upstairs behind the organ. There is a wood carving of the Last Supper, with a removable Judas piece that is just breathtaking. There are chairs in this room, and I was surprised to see that my family, with two kids in their 20's, just sat in the chairs and did not move for quite a while. It helped that we visited in December when the crowds were thin; but the beauty of the carving is something to see. I have seen a lot of churches in Europe and they all blend together after a while. The wood carvings in St. Jacob's are some of the finest I have seen. Don't miss this treasure in Rothenburg.
You need to allow time to visit this church as there is so much to take in.The stained glass windows, the statues, the pictures .the carvings There is so much to see and very impressive
St. Jacob's possesses two magnificent altars that are carved deeply and beautifully. They make the visit worthwhile, while other artistic embellishments add further beauty.
A quiet oasis of calm with a wonderful carved screen and a delightful altar piece. There is a small charge for entry but worth it.
This church is very big and worth a visit. Unfortunately, unlike many churches, there is an admission fee. The interior of the church is very nice with some beautiful carvings. If you are in Rothenburg, it's worth a visit.
