This castle was all but destroyed towards the end of the war. It has been beautifully restored especially the spectacular staircase. As with all federal museums it represents good value for money. The admission fee includes entrance to the mechanical music exhibition which was brilliant. Highly recommended.

The Schloss was badly damaged during the war and most of what you see is reconstruction. There are some rooms that have been very nicely renovated and an amazing staircase with a painted grotto underneath. Two little museums too. Overall I felt a bit disappointed but it was also very cold when we went there. Overall OK, but I certainly wouldn't recommend traveling far to visit.

You are flooded with a sense of history here. Not an old dusty place that needs work, but a bright and friendly clean re-construction of the original castle.Very much in the French style, this would be a perfect Hollywood setting for the period. Wonderful staircase. Friendly, helpful staff. You need to spend an afternoon here.I need to bring my family next time. The kids would learn a lot while exploring on their own.

A nice old Palace worth having a wonder past if you are in Bruchsal. A Very Grand place appropriate for a grander City!

Schloss Bruchsal is very beautiful and worth a half day to stroll the gardens and visit the music museum ( fascinating for even this non-musical person.) The building was rebuilt after WW2 and done so very well! Admission is small and you can just stroll around as you wish. No stuffy tours to follow. While ther they had a special Lego exhibit so this summer (2014) is especially good for families.

Lovely baroque style schloss thst often is a lovely day trip and frequently has weddings scheduled. .. the number of different styles of art encapsulated in the schloss are incredible and details are well worth the effort to make a stop here. Also a great side collection of music pieces for you to enjoy.

Bruchsal took a very heavy pounding from the air towards the end of the Second World War, and the Schloss was left as a ruin. However, they reconstructed it as the Baroque Schloss it had been previously including the painted walls and ceilings. The main entrance is impressive with staircases rising on both sides and high painted ceilings. Rather over the top for my taste, but a fine example of its genre. The Schloss has an area for special exhibitions, for which you pay a small extra fee, but there are also very good guided tours of an interesting automatic musical instrument museum, with a wide selection of fine machines on display and a good variety demonstrated. The restaurant, situated in a lodge by the entrance to the Schloss' grounds, gave me an excellent and reasonably-priced meal.

Nicely reconstructed Schloss located near a large German prison. It was apparently destroyed in WW II so they reconstructed it to previous standards. Nice Baroque finishes and has a small history museum in the top floor that has mammoth fossils, some examples of early settlements in the area and then the history of the Schloss up till being hit by bombs. There is a nice café/restaurant to the side of the entrance gate and parking is street (there is also parking areas on the back side and you can walk through the gardens to it). It houses an older collection of player piano type devices (since some are not a piano). If you live in the area, worth a comfortably day trip. We went in December, but its gardens probably make it worthwhile in the spring.

This palace is gorgeous. It was destroyed during WWII and rebuilt. The palace also acts as a museum with clocks, organs, art, and pieces of the rubble from the original palace. Plus, there is an organ that was supposed to go on the Titanic but never made it. We also had a small tour. Overall a great experience. I believe the museum offered student prices.
