It seems the front has been "glued" with sturdy iron bracketsvto the rest of the building, which gives the building an odd sight seen from closeby. Its name is derived from its Builder Lorenz Baunach (a wine merchant) who had the building altered in 1577. Remarkable are the many important brands and flood level brands. Completely rebuilt after a fire in 1992 and supplemented with a modern Pavilion. At present it houses a hotel.
