This is a famous watch tower that has copped a lean due to 800 years of flooding of the Main river. It is just of the left bank of the river and is one of the most photographed spots in Wertheim.

This 13th century "pointed Tower" is a whopping 36.5 m high and was used as a guard and Watchtower, in 15th century equipped with 8 octagonal superstructure, served also as a prison for "drunks and ever scheldende women". In the Interior the so-called "fear Liège, the original entrance was 10 meters above the ground and was only accessible via a ladder. It is a pitty its interior is not used for exibitions or representations, such a missed opportunity.
