This church will always have a special place in my mind and heart on our Amadeus River Cruise Beautiful altar , stain glasses, and a place to pause and reflect. My wife lit 2 candles here. It also turn out to be the place I lost my iTouch with many family pics and pics on the trip It was found here and yesterday 12-10-14 it came in the mail. Faith, trust and honesty to someone who found it. God BlessAloha Rich
The Church is placed in the middle of the old town so it is very old, from outside difficult to see inside there are nice vitrals but not much more. During the war with France 1689 and the 2. WW a lot of the original substance was lot. The last renovation shows the minimalistic '50.If you are walking around take a look.
The church was very impressive from the outside, but found it hard to believe it was a Catholic church because it missed a very fundamental piece of architecture that defines a Catholic church: the altar. I would have liked to know a little more on why that is but there was absolutely no information on the church anywhere inside.
Our touring group of 42 stopped here briefly on a walking tour of the area. According to our local guide, the stained glass was inspired by Chagall. The panels were stunning and very different from the typical stained glass seen in churches/cathedrals. Be sure to stop here when in the area.
The outside is very old and traditional (in a good way). Though I prefer that, I love the way they updated the interior, it is a beautifully done modern motif, in a community that still takes their faith seriously. (We were there for the Eve of All Saints and All Saints day, very neat culturally the care of cemeteries they had.) This place spills into the "Markt" and is a great set up to see how most medieval / European cities are set up, a church attached to a place where people can gather (restaurants, etc.) Good wine around the corner.
The st Martin church in Cochem is one of the beautiful medival buildings in the little town. This magnificent place, sitting on the Mozel river is a "must" to visit. the river, the castel and the little stone covered streets, together with all the beautiful vinyards around, are good resons to travel in that area. in the church which is builed in romanesque style you will find modern magnificent glass windows telling the bible stories with beautiful colours
A lovely old church with an unusual onion tower , not the norm in this area. Quite simple for a Catholic Church but fascinating
Upon entering feels and looks cold and unwelcoming, but once you take your time to look at each feature it starts to come to life, some beautiful modern stained glass windows, very modern tabernacle. Worth a visit.
The church is austere but this provides a great backdrop for the amaxing stained glass - modern and made in England. Well worth a look.
um bela e acolhedora igreja a margem do rio Mosela.Ambiente de paz e silencio.Belos vitrais ispirados no trabalho de Chagall.
Uniek borstbeeld in zilver, Bijzondere ramen. Makkelijk te vinden aan de rivier.
er zijn veel mooiere en verzorgdere kerken te zien! Enkel de zéér moderne glasramen zijn ( voor wie er van houd) de moeite waard
