amazing collection - small but oh boy SPECIAL! Stradivarius, Amati, and more.... if you stroll in the Duomo square during spring and summer, you might get lucky and listen to the sound of these gems... live!! why? because they have a person in charge of playing them each day, to keep them "alive". so special. took my mum in law there as she loves violins and she cried of joy for the entire time!

This museum actually already changed place from near the Duomo to couple of meters further from the center. Extraordibary collection of violins not only by Stradivari but (looking nicer) violins manufactured by Amati family. Perfect to see violin manufacturers tools but also listen to commentaries as the violins appear. Nice interactive displays!

Cremona the city of three T's, Torre ( Tower ) , Tetti ( Roofs) and Tortelini ( kind of pasta) and the House of Strasdivari above all the best known hand craft artist for its remarkable work on perfection of violins.I was there on October where city was emptied somehow by tourists and the attractions were all mine to be visited. I loved the Duomo of the City where Il Palazzo Comunale ( The Communal Palace ) and the Cathedral are located, and most of all the Collection of Violins performed by well known handicrafts man of the city. The work of the last Violin according the Stradivari' way of work was made at 1950 by a handicrafts man who later emigrate to USA.When I went there the Museum was empty and funny thing is that the Guide open the door of the Violins Hall just for me and asked me which music of the great Italian Opera composer I wanted as background meanwhile he would explain everything for me. Of course I chose Vivaldi the music of whom made that guide the most interesting ever.Looking at those old but valuable Violins it looked like you were experience the wonderful sound performed by them.I highly recommend this city as many city in Italy, don't miss it

What a wonderful, modern, tribute to the violin. We had explanations of how some of the famous violin makers got started and what their techniques were, although no one knows all their secrets. Beautiful instruments to view. We had a performance where an expert violinist played several pieces first on one fabulous violin and then on another. I was amazed--I amnot a musician but i really could discern differences. My only regret is i was with a tour group and we simply did not have enough time to spend here. Fabulous!

At the start you have an interactive guide which comes on automatically as you walk around the collection -starting with the history of the violin and how they are made, followed by a beautiful collection of instruments. An exciting feature is the posibility to listen to music played on each instrument simply by dialing in the number of the exhibit, you could spend hours in there ! The museum has a good restaurant and the staff were very helpful and spoke several languages, one of the most beautiful museums I ever visited.

No one in the Tourist Info office spoke English and could explain where to buy the tickets (in a cafe). No signage to direct you to the location of the museum. Very frustrating and time comsuming to find this small collection!!!

I like the idea of visiting the Violins Museum and to have someone to play the violins. The violins were from Stradivari, Amati and Guarnieri. All the very best

We were invited to visit the place and we had one of the most beautiful experiences from our life. It was a great feeling to see all those violins, carring hundreds of years of history in their music:) I am happy we got the chance to see them.
