The views from the walkway is fantastic. When walking, look towards the Sicilian land and try to spot Mount Etna. It's a good and safe place to walk/run/bike ...the walkways are very wide and properly lighted. There are parking spaces along the main road itself (remember to get parking tickets if you park here, parking spaces though are usually limited in the evenings when everyone is out) and a bigger car park area further down nearer to the train station. If you're planning to walk on the portion that's closer to the beach, do look out for dog poop.
This is a walk along the seafront that is beautiful and restful. The Corso is lined with libraries etc on the other side.
Just walk and enjoy the sea, look at the clouds and the blue of the waves melting with the sky. Nice walk and then turn to visit the city and the nice bars. Interesting artistic statues on the walk.
Beautiful colors during the day, beautiful lights in the evening. The view is spectacular, you ca see Sicily Island, ships floating on see, sun up in the sky reflecting in the sparkling water. Large space for walking, riding a bike or just sitting on bench. I would definitely come and visit again.
"The most beautiful km in Italy", this is how is known this spectacular seafront, where you can walk and feel the Sicily beside you. Take a walk here with you partner, is so romantic! Moreover, the beach is full of pubs and such nice places where you can take appetizers so tasty.
Totally agree with Gabriele d'Annunzio - simply brilliant seafront! Just have some time to enjoy your walking here)
It is a beautiful walk full of the mythology of ancient civilization. It is a wonderful place to sit to gaze at Sicily. This year they had a 150 person spinning class on the promenade.
For a stroll and an ice cream. Seems to be very popular for an afterdinner ealk among locals as well as tourists. Breathtaking view over to Sicily.
What a wonderful place to take a stroll, grab a gelato and enjoy the beautiful scenery. You can also see Mt Etna from here. Simply relaxing and beautiful
We travelled over from Messina and after visiting the Riace bronzes, we walked along the main shopping street, then came back along the Lungomare, it is beautifully paved and spotlessly clean, well worth a visit.
ENJOY THIS BREATHTAKING VIW , YOU CAN TOUCH sICILY ON THE OTHER SIDE nd scan the se if you can spot " Fata Morgana" ( reflex of the cities in the water).five minutres from the National Museum with one of the most statues in the world : The greek "Bronzes of Riace" found here in the sea in 1972
The sea along the City is just delightful. There are also these tremendous strange trees with huge branches and roots that seem to have taken over the pavements. Wonderful. You and also see Sicily across the straits!
With the blocks of change rooms behind wire fences that line a section give it an eerie feeling. The granular sand just adds to the feeling.Worth a long walk. The water is a beautiful blue green colour and crystal clear..
I studied abroad in Reggio back in 2007. Of course being there in June, everyone wanted to go to the beach everyday after school. What's interesting about this beach is that where you would ususally find shells, you found pieces of tile. Colorful tile! Some days you can see Sicily very clearly, and the water was a very tropical blue.
Nice long stroll along "rocky" beach, but it is the Med. Watch out about parking. You do have to pay. 1Euro for 1 hr tickets can be purchased at ticket machines scattered along the road. Some good seafood and pasta at restaurants along the street above. Monument is lovely for photo with Sicily in background
