No sand - rocks and pebbles beach!Clear water, shallow!Gorgeous! Will definitely return and recommend!

We got disappointed pretty much. It was crwoded and the sand is not very fine. More like little stones. Of course, landscape and caves looking beautiful but actually not a very good place to relax.

Cosy beach where you can find your own spot or lay under the sunshade drinking beverages from the bar. Also the beach boys are really friendly! Special thanks to our new friend "Juventino" who took care of me and my boyfriend those couple days when we went to the beach :)

Calabria is beautiful and this beach is a testimony of that. Chrystal clear not unlike what you expect to find in Sardinia but everything is cheaper. There are more than one management the one we appreciated the most, fixed prices that don't change depending on your accent is called "Onde Blu" blue wave. People are nice and the potential for this region is great.

Beautiful, glistening bay with seas crystalline like in Sardinia. This is a beach to take the car to and visit. Really beautiful here and we only spent a couple of hours laying out in the public side of the beach, not paying for lettini, but very happy and a great swimming location. Gorgeous beach!

We have lived near the beach now for over 4 years & we never tire of it, whatever season it holds something really special, if you haven't visited Grotticelle yet do so best place in the world (our opinion)!!!

Lovely beach coves but can get busy on a sunny day. Wonderful in the morning when it was empty! The car park was a tad congested when we tried to re visit in the afternoon!

We stayed 2 weeks in the area and went every day to the beach. Admitted, there are jellyfish in the bay early in the morning, but the various teams are cleaning this up rather quickly. Occasional jellyfish during the day. The currents some time bring rubbish from the open sea. This is also dealt with rather efficiently.One downside: the beach chairs are really chairs and not, like you see in the Adriatic or in Sicily, sunbeds (they're available, but at a surcharge). Hope they will deal with that in the coming years.

Groticelle is a very nice beach because it is not too big, it has a fine sand and our children loved playing there. You can rent a pedal boat for 10 Eur / hour and have fun going around or a motor boat (35 - 45 Eur / hour) and drive to Tropea or to the other side. The beach was most of the time clean. Sometimes there was some garbage in the water but it went away in a couple of hours. A real problem can be medusas. We were lucky to experience but a few (5 or 6 times in 2 weeks). The beach has a very warm atmosphere and the surroundings are simply gorgeous. If you look for a relatively quiet holiday and "nature" more than "city" type of beach. Go for it!!!

Grotticelle beach is a little gem tucked into the Calabrian coastline, south of beautiful Tropea. It is extremely popular with visitors from all over the world. During the month of August it is one of the favourite places of the northern Italians who flock to it. We live 3 kms from this beach and during the winter months it is completely empty but still as beautiful. The waters are crystal clear and great for snorkeling. Safe for children during the summer months and some hidden coves can be found for that extra privacy. Trips to nearby Praia del Fuoco can be made by boat - just ask at the Onda Blu Bar and they will accommodate you.

Plenty of facilities on this beach, Sunbeds, showers, coffee and bars etc. So glad we went in June, I dread to think what it would be like in July and August!!

do not miss it very nice and good for family and couples and there are just some bars but one part of the beach is wilder

Sight and beach are lovely, but we had too many medusa in beach proximity. The beach itself could be a little cleaner (too much garbage for a paid beach service).

La spaggia e bellissima il paesaggio offre davvero uno spettacolo unico il mare e stupendo l unico problema è che nel pomeriggio l acqua inizia sporcarsi e vedi con molto tristezza galleggiare rifiuti .purtroppo l inciviltà Dell uomo e riuscita a deturpare anche un posto così bello .se si è fortunati magari il tempo e buono e non ci sono state mareggiate nei giorni precedenti allora forse si resterà più soddisfatti .comunque mi rimarrà nel cuore in ogni caso merita di essere visitato

Ci sono stata ad agosto, durante un pomeriggio non troppo affollato e ho potuto godere appieno della stupenda spiaggia di sabbia fine e bianca.Bellissime le spiagge raggiungibili via mare e gli scogli che caratterizzano la spiaggia.Una delle più belle spiagge calabresi.
