Brillant atmosphere! Lovely (free!) appetizers and amazing wine (the wine isn't free but it's worth every cent). You can buy wine to take away, or stay and have a glass...bottle...or many. Other drinks as well. The host speaks many languages and knows his wine. He can recommend or you can browse through on your own. The guitar player made an effort to sing songs we'd recognize and we were encouraged by the locals to join in with karoke!It was an amazing night and we loved this place.

Il Vichingo is a bit of a Renaissance bar. They make killer drinks, sell beer and wine from around the world, give you great meat and cheese plates and help you have a great time in SM di Castellabate. We had a large group stop by for some drinks at their outdoor space and they hooked us up with some great meat and cheese plates. Once it was dinner time, they not only gave us a reco, but called to make a res and walked us there.Overall great food, drink, atmosphere and hospitality. Couldn't ask for much more.

My brothers discovered this wine bar on their first night in Santa Maria di Castellabate, and could not stop talking about it afterwards. We spent practically every night there enjoying the hospitality, friendly chat and good service. The owner and his staff are all very friendly and are very helpful with any questions we had about the area. There is a great selection of wines, spirits and beers available, make sure to call in when in Santa Maria di Castellabate, you will not regret it.

Whilst we didn't sample the wineshop and bar,the owner, Kjetil was our guide on this mini tour and took us to the Buffalo farm and gave us a very comprehensive tour. The visit to the Museum and temples at Paestum was excellent and Kjetil gave us time to take both the museum and the park.The lunch at the vineyard Polito was superb. A tour around the process by Enzo interpreted by Kjetil and then to have a splendid lunch sampling the wines and some liqueurs.All in all a brilliant tour of which we all enjoyed and we had a 9 year old with usThank You

Santa Maria is Italy at its best. Here you have great scenery, great architecture and especially great food and wine. In Santa Maria, we visited Il Vichingo where we bought some wine. They had a great selection of local wines and we got good help and a little story about the different wines where they were made.Il Vichingo also arranged two trips for us. A bicycle trip and a day to Capri. On the bicycle ride we stopped by a Mozzarella factory, ate lunch at a winery and visit Paestum, ruins of a 2,500 ancient Greek city. It was a day to remember. The trip to Capri was quieter, but also memorable. Narrow roads, great views, long taxis, yellow small buses, alleyways ... Capri is definitely a place to visit.Thanks to Il Vichingo for a great trip.Lars Hermansen

I always shop at Il Vichingo when I am in Santa Maria di Castellabate. There is such a great selection of products, goods and wine! Alot is locally made and sourced..the passata being one of my favorite purchases! Staff is friendly, it is in a great central location in front of the main square and they also offer great day tours for travellers! My parents were over the moon with their tour to a vineyard and local mozarella factory!

We went to the bar and wineshop and we met very welcoming staff. We wanted to taste some of the local products and got a wine tasting and some local specialities to eat. While we chatted about all the different areas and what we could do,the staff told us they also organise excursions to see mozzarella fabric, Paestum the old temples and end the day with a wine tasting and lunch on a local wineyard. We took the trip together with some friends and this is probably the best excursion we have made. To see how they make mozzarella and taste the freshly made ones, walk true the 2.400 year old temples and end up on this fantastic wineyard were we had the pleasure to be guided by the owner and sit at same table as the owners for lunch and wine tasting made this a great day.Absolutely to reccomend, ask the staff for what to do in this area and book an excursion while your tasting the local products.Some of our friends had a cooking school with the staff and in a local restaurant were they addapted wines for the lunch, they all came back with a smile so this is for us to do the next time

Se vi trovate da quelle parti fermatevi un po a bere una birra e fatevi una chiacchierata con il proprietario. Istituzione!!!!

Siamo entrati in questa vineria birreria che proponeva il karaoke...e tra un bicchiere e una canzone...che dire??? Divertimento allo stato puro!!!

Vi anbefaler utflukter og turer med Il Vichingo og Downhill Travel. I år som i fjor var vi med på en fantastisk fin og morsom 5 dagers tur til Montecatini Terme, Firenze, Vingård og Andrea Bocelli konsert i Lajatico! Vi var en herlig gjeng med mennesker samlet fra hele verden. Grand Hotel Croce di Malta er suverent! Alle utfluktene til Lucca, Firenze er flotte. Mye gode luncher og middager. Ristorante Montaccolle ligger øverst på en fjelltopp og gir utsikt over Montecatini Terme og Toscana. Uforglemmelige luncher på La Cascina har vi også hatt. Nydelig mat! Vi har hatt noen herlige dager i Toscana!

Abbiamo degustato un ottimo vino ed assaporato un buonissimo tagliere di salumi e formaggi... Consigliato vivamente!!!!

L'unico posto dove puoi assaggiare le birre di tutto il mondo e vini del Cilento e tutte le altre regioni d'Italia, tutte divise per regioni. Puoi accompagnare il tutto con dei buonissimi taglieri di salumi e formaggi in compagnia della simpaticissima presenza del vichingo.

Magnifico posto per passare una serata in compagnia. La vasta scelta di vini birre e tanti tipi di distillati ed altro. Anche i prodotti tipici fanno la loro scena. Ho apprezzato da subito i tavoli al interno. Ottimi gli stuzzichini. E le belle chiacchierate con il proprietario. Lo consiglio fortemente e tornerò sicuramente.
