Carmela's is conveniently located in the center of town and has a wide variety of linens and ceramics at pretty reasonable prices.

We visited Ravello with friends who had previously ordered dishes at Carmela's and had returned to order more. Though my husband and I had no intention of making a purchase and were merely accompanying our friends, we loved the amazing and beautiful array of ceramics. We ended up purchasing a full set of dinnerware service for 8, plus some serving dishes. After we returned to the States, the communication with Roberta was superb. Every piece arrived intact, and earlier than expected. When we decided to add matching linens to our order, Roberta had excellent ideas and sent photos by email. We love our tableware, and couldn't have had a more pleasant experience. We will be happy to give Carmela our future business!

My family lives only a couple of hours away from the Amalfi Coast, and it's one of our favorite places to visit. We had been looking at the lava tables as we visited many of the towns along the coast. It wasn't until we visited this beautiful store in Ravello that we were so tempted to purchase one! Everyone at the store was wonderful through the entire process. We ordered our table and chairs in mid-October, and Alfonso personally delivered it to our home in December. The table is customized with our names, the date, and a personal message. It's a keepsake that I hope we'll have forever - a reminder of one of the most beautiful towns in Italy. Thanks to Alfonso and Roberta for a terrific experience!

Huge selection of locally-crafted ceramics and linens purveyed by a local family. They'll ship things home for you, so knock yourself out. Bring back a bit of Ravello!

My husband & I visited Ravello for a few days in July & fell in love with the town immediately. Then we entered the Carmela shop and were smitten! We loved everything we saw & Alfonso was so nice to talk to. We were going home the next day & so we made (for us) the uncharacteristically bold decision to purchase an entire service for 8 of dishes! Once back in the US, we kept in contact with Roberta via email, who was so kind and friendly, and waited for them to be shipped. Of course everything is handmade to order so we knew it would be a few weeks. There was a slight delay in shipping because of issues on their end, so in a good faith move, they included a lovely matching serving bowl in our pattern for us as a gift! We were so pleasantly surprised by this, it was a very generous gesture :)All I can say it was worth the wait for these pieces, they are beautiful, durable, well made and remind us of Italy every day. They all arrived (all 35+ pieces) in perfect condition, not a single chip, nothing broken.We already looking to order some more pieces-grazie!

The most beautiful, unique and intricate designs in any of the shops along the Amalfi Coast! I especially loved the blue and white lemon design. This shop is frequented by the Hollywood elite (see the photos on the wall) and several local Palazzos (Palazzo Avino had their dishes appointed here). While in the store it was apparent many customers were here for multiple visits over many years. Wonderful quality not seen anywhere else.

I visited this shop in June, 2014 and purchased beautiful linens. Other shops in the area did not display the cost of each item, making it more difficult to inquire about their merchandise. At this store, the cost was easily located, the shop owners were kind, and I didn't feel pressured to make a purchase.

It is very difficult (mentally) to spend money on a large souvenir on the very first day of your vacation. What if you find something better in the next city? But I fell in love with the ceramics at Ceramiche d'Arte Carmela. We looked around in Ravello, and the other ceramics didn't compare. I returned to the shop and agonized over which beautiful platter to buy. I made a selection and the proprietors arranged to ship it. The result: twenty days later, a well-packed platter arrived on my doorstep. It was even more beautiful than I remembered, and in perfect condition.I am very happy with my purchase! I see it daily and it reminds me of our lovely vacation. And --we traveled in Italy an two additional weeks, and never saw any ceramics as beautiful as what we saw in this shop.

This is a fantastic experience.The items for sale are beautifully set out and made so inviting to buy. The range on display is mind boggling!The staff are friendly and helpful.

My wife and I went to this shop in June 2014. Great selection, excellent people.One piece was broken on the ship back to USA. No problem, a replacement was on the way in a week.Excellent.

I visited Ceramiche d'Arte Carmela in Ravello back in April during our visit to Italy to see friends. I purchased a few things while there, and ordered a few pieces of their red peacock patterned plates. I worked with Roberta by email and ordered the plates I wanted. They just arrived and are beautiful...just like I remembered them looking in the store. I know we will enjoy using them for many special occasions and fun gatherings!

My wife and I visited Ravello in 2010 and purchased several pieces of pottery at this shop. They had a wonderful selection and we had great service. We had everything shipped to the US and it all arrived perfectly. Unfortunately I recently broke one of the pieces and wanted to get a replacement. Upon contacting Roberta via email she was very helpful in making sure the replacement was an exact match and we received the new bowl within a few weeks. Not only is this a lovely shop in a beautiful town, but the people are the best as well. We hope to visit them again in the future.

We adore Carmello and Alfonso. Their pottery shop has the widest variety and the best prices in Ravello. We bought six place settings from them two summers ago, and since have ordered more via email. What we bought from Ceramiche d'Arte Carmela arrives looking exactly like the pieces on the floor. That is not always true from other vendors, whose floor samples are sometime finer looking than what arrives after shipping. The next time we are in Ravello, we will absolutely return for a visit, and pick up some additional items. Everytime we use our Italian pottery, it's like going back for a mini-visit. I doubt seriously I will ever shop anywhere else for Italian pottery.

A wide selection and excellent service. We have bought many things over the years. Items chosen have always arrived unscathed and Carmela and her husband Alfonso are a pleasure to do business with.

Wonderful selection of Deruta ceramics and a very knowledgable owner. Our purchases arrived safely back in USA as planned.
