everything is perfect, just be careful about the altitude, I felt a little dizzy :) the best time to go is in the morning, when it is not so crowded

Very nice view and skiing. If it's fog, just wait for a nice weather. Going up by "gondola" if you have problem with height just don't look down.

Best skiing in the Dolomites - steep, long and broad slopes, and an abundance of offpist opportunities

Sun was out, beautiful day, Coming up from Arabba, I have never felt colder in my life. We made it to the foot of the mountain and turned around. Maybe the Australian climate coming out in me but it was freezing!Spectacular view however!

If you have a ski pass and are staying in the area then choose a clear sunny day as the views are quite spectacular, both on the way up, and at the top.The run down the glacier certainly looks daunting from the bottom, and maybe from the top as well, but an advanced beginner can make a controlled descent. The piste is wide enough to meander down without getting in the way of advanced skiers. The effort is certainly worth it.

it is one glacier in Italy with that size (and maybe there is no other glacier). On the top where Punta Rocca is you can see whole ridge of the Austrian Alps (Stubai, Otztal, Hohe Tauern, Grossglockner) and the surroundings in the Dolomiti (Sella Ronda, Civetta and others). Very nice and you can ski down to Lago Fedaia.

If you are in the Dolomite Region of Italy - and you are lucky enough to have a clear day - then the trip up La Marmolada, is Compulsory! She is rightfully The Queen of the montain region also called South Tyrol. The whole trip comprises 3 different ski-lifts ..with marked walks and tracks at all but the highest level.Should you get up there - over 3,200 metres above sea level - you will be awestruck (no other word for it) by the vision of blue lake (below, below), green forestry and snow capped peaks .. even in September! At level 2 you can visit a small museum dedicated to the Italian and Austro-Hungarian Soldiers who manned the trenches between their lines during the First World War. In addition you can walk the tracks between their lookouts and bunkers - and try to imagine surviving a winter here at over 2,000 metres height.

The gondola ride to the top of the Marmolada isn't cheap, but you're rewarded with excellent 360 degrees views. The top station, at more than 3,200 meters, can get quite cold (it was 1 degree on the day we visited), but is worth the effort. You have clear view of the Sela and the Sasolongo range and if it is clear even the Zilertal Alps can be seen very nicely. On the middle station there is a small WW I museum that I recommend giving 15-20 min. visit.

Been there during summer and it was a pleasure. The lift is not cheap but very fun, so if you are around you have to do it. You can stop at 3 stations along the hill. The top one has the best view naturally, but sometimes its just covered with clouds, so check out the weather...

Incredible views, nice slopes. Only recommended with good snow conditions, since this piste is very popular which easily results in bad conditions to ski on.

If you are skiing in Dolomites , you must do the trip to Marmolada . The cable trip is amasing . We did run on skis from Arabba , great ski slopes . Then we took the cabel car once , and again , and again . Fabulos . Intersting museum at the end of the second cabel trip and nice restaurant . But when we did reach the top we found an incredible site . The ski down on the 12 km slope was a nice experience too . It was a great trip

We took the open ski lift from the Lago Fedaia side , a wonderful experience by itself , and continued with a short hike to the glacier . the views are amazing ,in my opinion the best in the Dolomites area .

Wonderful trip by cable car to the Queen of the Dolomiti, the Marmolada. Truly beautiful and breath taking. We had an excellent light lunch at the little cafe opposite the entrance to the cable cars

kfirs904

The view was amazing, snow is available all year long, the souvenir shop at the 2nd stop of the cable car is nice and not expensive as well, the cable car fee seems a little too expensive but it's still a site you must visit while travelling at that amazing part of Italy!
