The road up to the temple is windy and narrow in places but surprisingly tour busses get there. the temple date back to the 4th century BC and is good for a half a day. The cafe up there is not my cuppa so bring a picnic and your camera. The temple sits on the edge of a cliff overlooking Terracina. You can look down and see old and new Terracina and islands far out in the Sea.Make the most of it and go on a clear day.

Lets star by saying you're not going to be bowled over by the ruins here. Most have crumbled to dust except the arches, which can be seen to better effect from the town below. The views however are spectacular. especially on a clear day. The air is cool and sweet and you can look down on the town below and up and down the coast. There is an overpriced gift shop at the entrance, selling books and tat that you could pick up elsewhere cheaper. There is also a bar up at the ruins however I didn't visit it so I can't comment.

An old ruin worth seeing. Build on Neptunes cliff, devoted to either Jupitor or Venus. The commanding view over the town is very nice.

Place was an interesting piece of history. Beautiful views, demands 1-2 hours to see.Place also has a light show in later night.

This is an amazing spot for a view!!! And apart from that, it is also the site of an interesting Roman temple!! If the weather is good, not too hazy or cloudy, the view is stupendous... all along the coast to San Felice Circeo or down south towards Gaeta.... There is also a café, that has a nice outdoor garden area. This could be amazing, but like so many opportunities in Italy, this has also been missed. It is basic, with good coffee and delightful seating outside that is spoiled by the radio blasting from speakers!! WHY??? I shall not criticize further as from experience I know that it is red tape and apathy that leads to entrepreneurial ideas being squashed here.....This is a great place to spend an hour, get some air, and take photos. There are lovely wild flowers growing around the hill side and some examples of Roman frescoes in a few arches if you look close enough, mustard coloured patches surrounded by red.... amazing. Well worth a visit, and very near the historic centre, so good as an add-on to a morning's sightseeing....

Beautiful setting, terrific view, certainly it is worth driving there perhaps not once if you stay in Terracina one week or so.

Well worth a trip to the top either for the history or the view over Terracina! You can even grab a drink at the top in the little cafe situated among the ruins!

Having a vacation in Italy includes seing a lot of ruins! But none can offer such a stunning view over the town of Terracina and the Mediterranean. 227 meters high the hilltop gives a fantastic view. And in the evening the temple ruins are lit up and gives a impressing sight from the town center. This is well worth a couple of hours of your valuable time!

It's a long haul up to the top of this promontory to view the ruins of the ancient temple of Jupiter in Terracina, but it's worth it. The road is well paved and there is ample parking. Once inside the visitor center you will watch a short video showing the temple in its original form, thanks to computer generated models. Then you start your walk. You should definitely wear sneakers or closed shoes/boots because the trails are pretty rocky and some of the stairs are in need of repair. You must go around to all sides of the site to get the views of below, which are spectacular. This is an appropriate and doable climb for anyone in reasonably good shape. It's certainly not handicapped accessible but if you can do stairs and some light hiking, you should climb on up.

Put your boots on end enjoy the long climb to the top to see this temple. The views are amazing and it gives you a sense of what the Greeks enjoyed when they built it. Have a drink and freshen up in the cafe.

Terracina's Tempio di Giove is one of those wonderful off the beaten track destinations rich in history which is worth visiting. One is rewarded with breathtaking views of the beautiful coastline, with stunning sunsets over the Circeo promontory during winter months. Terracina is older than Rome and boasts beautiful Roman and preRoman walls, temples, roads and cemeteries.

The road to the templearea is pretty long and steep so reserve at least an hour for the climb if you decide to go on foot. We drove all the way to the ticket office. There is a good parking site on the top.The tickets are a bit costy at 9€ for adults but for children the is no fee. In the temple area there are pretty good tracks with guide signs and info panels. Parts of the temple are pretty well preserved and the view from the top is excellent. It took us about one hour to walk the suggested route in the area. The is a cafeteria but we did not enter it.
