Lively place, huge - has a view to the other side of the river. Cafees and restaurants along both sides of the square.
A very nice and huge square in downtown Turin ( Torino ). Lots of attractions around, for everyone : terraces , restaurants , shopping , museums , theater , opera and others. Nice promenade on the river and also nice landscape to the hill across.
Nightlife! There are plenty of bars and clubs around. I visited in February, so most bars had the outdoor seating unavailable, but in the spring and summer this must be the place to go for having fun!!
Well, I love to see this square as you can really feel in the Royal Torino, We had a nice coffee in one of the bars below the galleries. The place gives a nice view over the hills. We really enjoyed it.
The traditional square, now full of bers and restaurants. A must for tourists. It overlloks the po river, and the Gran Madre di Dio basilica.
I recommend coming here for a walk or a drink at night, but don't stop to eat at the restaurants...they're quite expensive and there are many better places to eat in Turin that are more affordable and local.
very nice square near the river; Almost a straight shot from the Palazza Madama (count the graffiti to pass the time). Great architecture. Only complaint is crossing the streets is dangerous due to high traffic throughout the day.
This large place is 3/4th arounded by typicly Italian styled buildings. Only the riverside (River Po) is open with a bridge going to the church Gran Madre. You feel litle in the middle of the Piazza where tramways are crossing, coming out under the buildings. At weekend nights, the Piazza is very crowdy with mostly young people going out til the morning.
Big open Space, with nice Buildings surrounding and a good view towards the river and Castle across, but the Square itself is not a must see.
This large square embraces 4 blocks and connects Via Po to the Emanuele Bridge over the Po river and because of this, it is almost always busy and quite interesting. There is a book market held here on Sundays; used novels of indeterminate age are about 3 to 5 Euro each, but the real interest is for antique and unusual book lovers. There are possibly 15 cafes and restaurants dotting the square, so it is good to hang around and eat and drink and talk about...what else ? soccer and politics.!. [ and Italians are quite good at this you will be no doubt aware ]
I really enjoy visiting this piazza every time I am in turn. So far I have been there four times and I never miss a trip here so I can enjoy the vast space, the Po river and the great scenery around the river. Cafes are there and so are restaurants, so you will never get hungry or thirsty when visting this square. Watch Turin locals go by from this square and listen to chats about Italian politics and Itaian 'calcio' ( football ) in this square. Every one is a prime minister or a coach here.....
very nice piazza when its night time!!! and from the via Po to piazza vittorio is nice to walk street.and view is very nice!!
I love this square! I used to live in Turin for a year and this square was my favorite! It' huge, beautiful, it doesn't matter if it's day or night! It's beautiful anyway! And it's always full of life! There are always students, young people and there are a lot of bar around you can seat and enjoy this beautiful view!
But how many squares has Torino? This is the biggest ,all surrounded by elegant buildings that have beautiful shops on their ground floors and special cafés that get really full in the evening especially in summer time creating a very alive atmosphere very close to the Po river.
Its a great place.. the overall atmosphere is great.. Just sitting in the cafe and sipping coffee is great....
