fontana del nettuno

在博洛尼亚看到很多中国人，有旅游的，好多在那里开店的，每次看到黄色脸就以为是中国人，有的是韩国人，也有泰国人，黑人也挺多的，那里有很多街头艺人，有的可能是博洛尼亚大学的，我在附近的一个叫ZAMBONI CAFFE吃了中餐，味道还不错。总共吃了十五欧元。价格中下吧。

这是博洛尼亚的标志。至少我是这样认为的。在市中心的广场上面，非常漂亮，有气势。海神尼普顿的形象感很强，手持三叉戟，不愧是雕塑强国。里面的水很清澈，很干净。

Nice both during the day and at night. People usually gather nearby, so it can be a crowded place sometimes. The bronze figure of Neptune is nude, like many other statues in Italy.Funny fact: the logo of the famous car company Maserati was inspired by the trident in this Neptune statue.

It was difficult trying to get a clear picture of the statue with beggars sitting on the steps and washing in the little side fountain. With a little moving around and trying different angles we got some photos. Nice statue and I think it will look very nice a night as well. We took the train from Florence to see the snow and walked to the statue and back. Its a nice old town with nice old buildings.

It's a masterpiece of Giambologna. A jewel of Bologna city. Very close to Piazza Maggiore. You can enjoy and cover both of the places within a small amount of time.

I really like this fountain and the square that surrounds it. It's a place always full of people with a lot of nice bars. I love hanging out there with my friends especially when a special event is organized.

It's right there in the middle of the main square of the city, even if you don't want to see it, you'll see it. Like many other fontana and statues in Italy, I was just not very comfortable with all the nudity but I guess it's art (that's what people say) and it indeed makes an ordinary fountain look so much more beautiful.

a lovely piazza setting. We found a restaurant close by that served pumpkin sorbet with balsamic vinegar dressing - stunning attraction with lots of great cafes and people watching to do...

It's in the central piazza. It's a nice spot and you won't miss it if you are in the piazza maggiore. Although we shouldn't split an attraction to many different spots in such a detail. You can visit bologna center in 2hrs walk, without missing anything mentionable

When I was in Bologna, I briefly visited with a Bosnian friend who is studying at the University of Bologna. She told me about the "Seven Secrets of Bologna", and one of them was an amusing anecdote about the statue of Neptune. The story goes that every day, the nuns from the local convent had to walk past this statue, which at the time was quite generously endowed, to say the least. The local bishop complained to the sculptor that the statue was a threat to the modesty and chastity of the nuns, and demanded that he reduce the size of the genitals. The sculptor could not refuse him, but was very upset at being forced to alter his artwork. In revenge, he also changed the position of the thumb on one of Neptune's hands, so that, from the angle the nuns would see the sculpture at while walking past it, the thumb looked like a stiff erection. Since hearing that story, I can't help but laugh whenever I walk by the fountain. I'm pretty sure the locals all think I am insane.

The Fountain of Neptune, with a trident, sits on a plinth and surrounded by "babes." The statue attracts street performers and tourists alike. It is an ideal place to begin one's exploration of Bologna.

Nice focal point to arrange to meet people at later when you split up to do your own thing as it's easy to find and is central. Statue of Neptune in beautiful but all the ladies at his feet seem to be enjoying themselves. Go see!

Great architecture right in the middle of Piazza Maggiore. Neptune's body looks very impressive and intricately designed. A good camera will give you a closer view and will show you how impressive this architecture is.
