A great place if you are in Ostrava for a few days and have a bit of time (especially on a weekend). If you stay in Park Inn or Mercure, take the tram up the hill and go visit it. It's been superbly sorted, in the woods and it feels really natural. Loads of great animals, well looked after. Thoroughly enjoyed myself. Plus at prices varying between 80-120 crowns, it certainly won't hurt your wallet ...

It's quite big zoo with a lot of different species, all with enough of space. The price is cheap. I visited it in winter but i will return in summer to make better photos

We have been to several zoo's in the Uk and also in the USA and i have to say Ostrava Zoo is my favourite. Well priced, lots of interesting animals and the enclosures are large and often very natural looking. The setting of the zoo within a wooded area is also very pretty. The goat petting pen is very good fun for children and adults alike.

Our favourite ZOO. This ZOO is better and better, year by year. A lot of investment to animals and visitor service can be seen. Warmly recommend.

If you are looking for an idea how to spend your free time activly without being exhausted the Ostrava ZOO is the solution. Nice walk there watching the animals or plants in a peaceful woods on marked paths, many attractions for kids, kids zoo, nice restaurants, various stands and rest areas.

If you have kids, there is nice place to spend free day! there is a Kids ZOO, where you could feed small goats wit special food from machine. Then you could try Zoo train, one trip 30 CZK per person, you save time in your way back (and save your feet to go to the small hill...). Nice to see small elephants or other attractive animals like lions, gepards, monkeys, parrots...

Zoo is in great condition. They still prepare something new for visitors. Care about animals is on very good level. IT is placed in great big park area, There is many atraction for children. Every time you can find news.

It's obvious the people working there really care. If you compare zoo Ostrava 6 years ago and now it's heart warming. Great in summer as well as winter. In summer if you want to avoid queues on weekends I would definitely go in the morning. Animals are great and in good condition and they are placed all over the zoo you will have a nice walk. Most of the paths are accessible even for disabled but bear in mind it's a bit hilly. Do not miss hippos and two elephant girls...adorable. Enjoy!

Even in winter a lot of experiences for a good price in this ZOO park ...and another pavilions building.

I have been at this place many times and everytime I see something new. It is a great place to have fun and learn new things.

We went to the zoo due to our kids and we didn tregret it,lots of animals to see,lovely petting area,good informations about the animals and just a serene place to walk around,nice experinece

Ostrava ZOO provides pleasant walk with a great variety of animals that can be seen around. Visitors will find not only animals but also many interesting facts about them. Smaller children will appreciate the petting area where they feed goats or a train ride which is available to people of all ages and can make the zoo accessible to elderly people who could not walk the whole distance. We have been there several times and we never get tired of it. We walk around it in different ways to avoid getting bored. They seem to be opening new sections continuouslyHighly recommend a stop for some doughnuts dying the visit...:)

Cheap and cheerful springs to mind. No need to state negatives at this price , as you recieve a fair day out for your time and .money.Food and drink available throughout the course of viewing. Some building work points towards modernisation and a genuine effort to avoid complacency often found in such establishments.
