Good place to meet with friends and start your walk around the city center, offers few restaurants to sit down and enjoy the day, stores, interesting architectural buildings, has a street car stop and during the year has some fun attractions like Christmas & Easter market, food market..... nothing spectacular but nice for hanging out and is in the middle of the center so you can get anywhere from here and at night there is a lots of clubs to go to.

Not a huge square, but cute. It seems like lot of people is meeting there and then they go to different pubs etc.. It was decorated in Christmas style during our visit, nice place to see definitely.

Namesti Svobody is nice place to walk around, especially if you want to shop or to realx a little around the city. There are nice stores and cafes around.

Walked through the square to go to St. Peter & St. Paul Cathedral, not much to see in the square besides the Baroque Plague Columb, Astronomical Clock and the House of Four Atlantes

If you're in town, it's worth visiting but not worth going out of your way... Czech Republic has a lot of interesting squares and this wouldn't be in the top ten.

The square was reconstruced completely about a decade ago and some Moravians say that it turned the place into a "big frying pan" in the summer, which is partly true. No trees to provide shade and no chance to feel cosy. The benches are often seated by homeless people and the squere is frequently being crossed by trams which I also find dangerous. No fancy restaurants and mixed architecture. BUT! I absolutely love this place during various festivales because there is enough place for shows and markets. Especially Christmas is perfect here. And also you should not miss the new clock which has very unusual appearance!

We mostly enjoyed 2 houses with atlantes in the south end of the square. One has 4 male atlantes with very funny faces. The other has 2 male and 2 female figures whose interaction looked slightly erotic and unusual. There are many more attractions to view at this square.

June is the very month to come to the biggest square of the city of Brno - festivals, concerts, shows, crowds of tourists and local people. As I love history I take pictures to become cocktails of the old times and nowadays. It seems one can dance throughout periods of good and bad times travelling backward and forward at least thanks to imagination. Some props are useful too.

If you're going to pub with friends in the evening or traveling by train somewhere, having some extra time till train leaves, you might be going through Namesti Svobody. It's main advantage is that is in the middle of 2 big travel points in Brno - main train station and Ceska street. There was a spectacular object erected few years ago told it's clock, but no one really knows how to see time on it. Jakub's church clock are more helpful in this case.Lack of green and more shadow is a bit of disadvantage as well.

Obligatory place to visit in Brno downtown. It has many shops an restaurants/cafes, and a new penis like Clock Tower, which I have no idea what time it is. One lucky visitor gets a ball which drops out from the clock tower each day.

Even though I am a proud citizen of Brno, I must admit that our main square is quite bad. There isn´t anything interestin to see, not much green or places where you would like to sit and relax. It´s true that few years ago there was the clock machine built. But it looks weird. You do not even want to know how we call it :-) But once you see the shape, you would understand :-) Anyway, the good thing is that there are some celebrations or festivals quite often here and then it´s realy nice. For example Christmas market, wine festival, beer festival and food festival etc. Make sure that you wisit namesti Svobody during one of these events.

Close to the main railway and bus stations, this square is spacious, with trams passing through - which makes the orientation in the centre that much easier. Several nice restaurants, cafes, pubs around, as well as highstreet shops. there is a ..ehm..shaped black clock on one side of the square, probably meant to catch visitors' attention as there is no way of telling the time on this clock.. :-) In the winter it gets cold and windy, as it is a large open area, so rather than strolling there, one better jst rush to some of the nearer streets for some warm refreshment.

This famous main square in Brno man has to take as the best the city wants to offer you. And when I say city, I mean its officials of course. So here you can visit many restaurants that probably focused on tourists, plenty of modern architectural relicts around and a controversial sculpture as well. In fact this place might be slightly boring and when it gets crowded here, it’s definitely nothing special. In winter there are biggest Christmas markets in town, but that simply attracts a lot of more people to the square, so you probably will need to queue for almost everything while listening to live music from large stage. It is worth of visit, but do not expect something gorgeous.

The place is the centre of life and therefore it is almost impossible to prepare the programme suitable for all, but generally, it offers something interesting! September is devoted to food and drinks, December to Christmas markets and summer to a small beach, just to pick some! BTW the big black thing is a bullet!

It is probably the most famous square in Brno. But nothing special. Shops, restaurants, trams, people, fountain, but the only special thing is the black Brno astronomical clock. People call it "penis" for its shape. There is some legend about it importance.
