We did this hike in the snow. On foot the first couple miles are on the road, which was less exciting, but once you get to the actual path the walk becomes much more pleasant. It was about 2 hours to the top. It was snowing for us most of the way, so I can't comment on the views (though the woods were nice), but the experience was fun and the hostel at the top had great food and cheap, delicious beer.

Even though it was foggy and I couldn't enjoy the views from the top of the hill, I had such a fantastic time hiking up through the forest. The restaurant at the top has delicious traditional Czech meals, and is a great place to get a vibe of the Czechs love of weekend hiking.

Klet is a viewpoint with a TV mast close to the town of Cesky Krumlov. To get to the top you can either take a chair lift or climb up, although the trail leading directly under the chair lift is not as maintained as you might like, which on the other hand gives it its charm.The top of the view point has a Planetarium and a restaurant, and in a good weather it is nice to just chill on the rocks and have a picknic.

Started our journey by taking a train from CK station to Trisov, went back alongside the river from Divci Kamen (a ruin of a castle) to Zlata Koruna (monastery, you can get off the train here as well) and started our hike to the mountain. Going up there are a few paths labelled with horizontal strips of colours on trees, signs etc (organized by “Klub ceskych turistu” in case you wanted to look it up). The mountain is the highest point far and near, hence if lucky with the weather, there is a great 360 degrees view for dozens of kilometres. The watchtower is open daily for just a symbolic entrance fee; the restaurant besides provides sufficient refreshment. There is even an observatory on the hill. Descend to CK easy as well. If you don’t feel like going up and down on your own, there is a lift to the summit and on top you can often rent a downhill-scooter.

This was a nice trip - but there was a catch. We took the train from CK - a taxi is the only sensible way to get to the station but it's cheap - and then the short train ride to Holubov. It doesn't take long, but trains are every two hours. It's then very easy to walk to the foot of the chairlift following the green trail signs, but beware - it's a 45 minute walk uphill. The chairlift runs 00 and 30, but keeps going until the queue is gone, so you don't necessarily have to arrive bang on time. From there the lift takes you to the top where you can climb the tower for the view, hire a bike to ride downhill, visit the observatory - rather dry explanations - or simply walk back to CK or retrace your steps.There is a nice pub next to Holubov station (and another halfway) and the walk is pleasant, though meadows and mostly on good paths or roads. After the hustle and bustle of CK this was a very pleasant afternoon in some open spaces.

Nice walk up to Klet view point with nice restaurant and very good limonade, entrance fee up the view 20 kc stamp of Klet available at the restaurant :)

Замечательное место для пешего туризма, кресельный подьемник помогает поднятся на панорамную площадку. Также здесь можно провести время в Планетарии и ресторанчике. Рекомендую потратить полдня на посещение этого живописного уголка всем любителям спокойного отдыха на природе!

Kleť je s nadmořskou výškou 1083 m n. m. nejvyšší hora Blanského lesa, který je součástí Šumavského podhůří. Leží 6 km severozápadně od Českého Krumlova a 18 km na jihozápad od Českých Budějovic. Z Českých Budějovic jsme jeli vlakem do Holubova a odsud pěšky na Kleť. Bylo krásné slunečné počasí, dole jaro, a ve výšce 1083 m zima jako v pohádce, moc jsme si to užili. Doporučuji návštěvu rozhledny a hvězdárny.

Toto kouzelné místo jsme si vybrali při návštěvě Českého Krumlova. Z centra je vzdálené asi 7km a je to výšlap do pořádného kopce, ale odměnou je nádherný výhled a skvělé jídlo v místní restauraci. Mám velkou radost, že jsme s přítelkyní tohle místo navštívili.
