This is an attempt to add 'class' to Soviet style architecture, It is made to look like a typical European square, but instead of being old, it is all new. They have done a really good job, buildings and statues are interesting and it is a good place to people watch. Sad to see beggars, especially young females with babies and young children.

Another of Batumi's attractive modern developments, this time in the Italianate style, with outdoor cafes, a couple of souvenir shops, and an Exchange office in the corner (you will need some local currency). Adjacent to St. Nicholas Orthodox church, which is in my view more interesting than the Virgin Mary cathedral, being older and more intimate.

Piazza Square is a nice place to relax after visiting Batumi . We used its tower as an orientation point when we walked around the Old Town of Batumi and we stopped there for a drink after 3 hours of sightseeing . There was a lot of atmosphere in the Piazza as we could see a lot of Georgians of all ages ( it was a Sunday) and feel a festive feeling . There are tourist shops where local handicraft can be bought and restaurants for local food .

It took them more than an hour to serve us food. So we had to leave and refuse from our order. It is popular because of the evening concerts which are enjoyable. Just don't eat there, there are many good restaurants around where you can dine and then come back for a drink at the Piazza Square (drinks might take a while as well, as it did for us)

Like many places around Batumi, Piazza Square feels more like Europe than Georgia. There is a lovely large tiled mosaic on the ground, outdoor dining and a well maintained clock tower. We saw wedding photos being taken there, as another testament to it's beauty. The English Pub there was good for a Guinness, the souvenir shop was pleasing enough for serial expats find something to buy (coffee mug with the Georgian alphabet) and there was an icecream stand (though some items were unavailable due to being too frozen to scoop). Overall, a lovely place to spend an afternoon and let the kids run.

I was hoping to see a glimpse of Georgian life, however it was a poor imitation of a Italian or Spanish piazza. The pub (I think its name was the Quiet Lady) did not serve Georgian wine or beer and the white wine and the beer we ordered were served warm. Not worth your time.

It was a quiet different place type in batumi, it seemed like you moved to other city, it was a bit noisy, but cute and lovely place, worth to go there

The square is situated in a very bad environment. Houses are falling apart, so this square looks just fake. Batumi tries to cover the dirty streets full of traffic with this kind of stupid architecture. Poor and sick people on the street next to buildings that aren't in harmony with the real identity of the city.

newly built square in pseudo-Italian/classical style where you can sit and listen to life music. Food/drinks (continental) nice but a bit pricy in la Brioche. There is also a nice restaurant in the clock tower (which, btw you can not climb, it is locked upstairs, I tried;-) and Ukrainian restaurant (nice) and a Pub (didn't try it) in the square.Unforunately they do not have any benches or such where to sit if you do not want to eat or drink anything.

This square is surrounded by modern buildings with several cafés to enjoy a coffee lunch or dinner, it is also used as a music venue, with a whole host of live bands playing, buzzing at a nightime. Batumi is very easy to walk around pretty much a grid system clean and easy and home to host of wonderful and weird architecture, each one trying to outdo each otherThis time of year it's roasting so a good place to stop and take a break in the shade

Little but very nice square with modern buildings imitating ancient architecture. Live music in the evenings. Couple of restaurants with outdoor and indoor seating and outdoor bar with large screen playing sports channels (football when we were visiting)

On 10 July 2014 we strolled in the old city of Batumi, and luckily discovered Piazza Square. It is one of the most lovely and lively places in Batumi, surrounded by the Piazza complex, which includes a three hotels (Piazza Four Colours, Piazza Inn, and Piazza Boutique), restaurants, a café and a pub. We have stayed three nights at Piazza Boutique hotel to enjoy the live and relaxing music performed daily at the square by visiting famous musicians.Delightful local & international food can be found at the at the Mimino Georgian Restaurant, European restaurant Marco Polo, La Brioche Café and the Quiet Woman Irish Pub. Big flat TV screen was made available to show the last two soccer matches of FIFA 2014 World Cup tournament. We joined the crowd and enjoyed watching the final games.I highly recommend this venue.

The building and tower this astrological clock is housed in is fantastic--with beautiful stained glass windows and architecture. Great addition to this very quaint, New Orleans-like neighborhood.
