This is a great pub right across the road from the Manekken Pis - it was very busy on a Saturday night but we had no trouble getting a table. Service was quick, friendly and knowledgeable - the waiters were happy to make recommendations based on what we told them we had tried and liked already. The interior is really interesting as others have mentioned with lots of mannequins and puppets (some a bit creepy) all over the place and interspersed with portraits and different Belgian beer paraphernalia. We stayed for hours and even made friends with another couple who were there to sample the extensive variety of beer on offer - the atmosphere is great, well worth a visit!
A huge selection of beers, fast and polite service, very interesting decoration. A must go in Brussels and a good choice to go regularly if you live here.
It was one of the best wee pubs I have ever been to. It is close to Manekeen Pis. Lovely beer!!! It is filled with with marionettes and puppets which makes the pub really atmospheric. You just cant missed it while in Brussels.
Love love this bar right beside the mannequin pis. You can't miss it when in Brussels. Great beers and wine! Recommend it. Seems to be loved by locals and tourists alike!
Stepping through the doors for the first time can be a little unsetting but in a good way. The bar lives up to its name as it is filled with marionettes and puppets. They occupy ever available space including the ceiling!I've have never seen this place empty and for good reason; the beer list is extensive and the staff are friendly and knowledgable. After a few drinks, the puppets can seem oddly alive but after a few more you you just won't care. My advice is to keep drinking, there are some good beers on their list. The downstairs seating area contains a puppet theatre mural complete with red curtains which is good for photos if you can secure a spot here but any seat is a good seat. I would go so far to say that this is my favourite bar in the whole of Belgium. A recommended watering hole.
The best place for beer without doubt. Great range of beer and efficient staff. Puppet paraphernalia all over the walls.
This is the best place for all these belgium beer options. Atmosphere, service and options are really well. You have talk to your waiter and explain them what kind of beer you want to try and they will guide you perfectly. Some root beer have really high alcohol so you have to be careful! Prices are not so cheap but crazy expensive and it is place must visit while you in Brussels ;-)The place just opposite of famous peeing boy Manneken Pis
Just across the road from the Mannekin Pis, this was the best spot we found on a three-night stay in Brussels. It’s popular, so it’s sometimes hard to get a seat, but we were lucky that a group was leaving just as we were entering. It’s decked out with dangling puppets and old pictures, so it looks good, and there’s a lovely atmosphere from all the hubbub of people talking. The staff are friendly too, and they know their beers, and although the food menu is not extensive it’s pretty satisfying after a long day’s sightseeing (and served until late). Have some pasta, and a local beer, and all will be right with the world.
Nice stylish place with nice service! Wish there were more draught beers (currently only 4). Staff is friendly.
Nice bar located right next to Mannekin Pis with a nice outdoor seating and good view of the statue. It looks quite cosy on the outside but on the inside the bar is quite big and beautifully decorated, with interesting knick knacks, puppets and statues. The drinks are nice with a good selection of beers, very limited food but generous portions.
Interesting place, bit creepy but worth a visit! Some really nice beers avaliable, huge selection, nice to sit and people watch right near manikin pis.
One of Brussels great beer bars, this place right next to the Manneken Pis,sells a good selection of beers from the greatest brewing country on earth, including a good number of Lambics. you can drink outside and watch the tourists gawping at the little boy,or retreat inside and drink besides the traditional puppets that adorn the walls.must go to place
Came here for the 1st time as a close friend is a Brussels regular and took me here. Fantastic character and the doll/puppet figures that are spread around the place are so cool but kind of creepy at the same time! Beer selection is amazing here and our waitress was a tall blonde with great recommendations, which were all were spot on for our tastes in beer that we stated to her.
I was recommended this pub, and it did not disappoint. The pub is literally just across the street from the famous Manneken Pis, so it's very easy to find - and i'm surprised that it's not busier than it is! It was always very easy to find a nice spot to retire to. The decor is very unusual - lots of puppets and bits and bobs - very cute and interesting, makes for a great setting. The music as well, fits well with the surroundings and adds to the atmosphere. The service is excellent; i didn't grab the name of the blonde girl who served us, but she was wonderful - very warm and welcoming and very smiley. We visited a couple of times - once just for drinks and the second for a lunch where we had beer, hot chocolate a cheese plate and lasagne to share. The hot chocolate is lovely and the lasagne was perfect! Certainly do go here when in Brussels - I definitely would return!
We had the good fortune of staying right near this gem of a beer bar in Brussels. It became our trademark place to stop off for a late beer on the way back to our B&B. Filled with locals and tourists alike, it was a fabulous place to enjoy great Belgian beer in a reasonably quiet, yet fun-filled bar. The service and selection were both outstanding.
