Tuesday is market day and you have such a choice of food and no food that you wonder around for hours. Visit the shop that makes spaghetti in front of you. In season look for truffles. Go to the restaurant d'O you will not be disappointed.

What a wonderful city. Walk up to the old ruine and have a great view of the city. Wander through the little streets within the city walls and discover little shops. Definetly worth the visit.

A stunningly beautiful hilltop town built right along the crest of a steep hill and a huge market that ran the length of the main street. We take time browsing in the market and buy small gifts for loved ones at home. As we continued on through the village and across an ancient Roman bridge still in use today we start to climb upwards through another tiny little village. Upwards we trudged almost 400 meters to the citadel built on the summit. Wow what a walk I did not think I could go the last 200 metres but I was determined to get to the top to look out over the valleys. The village we had passed through looked like a child's model from this height and if we could have seen our tiny car it would have been a speck. The decent was almost as difficult as the ascent and we stop halfway down at a cafe overlooking the valley. We enjoyed a delicious lunch, a very savoury crepe similar to a pizza but wafer thin base it is superb. We wash it down with 2 glasses of rose which i am sure helped me finish the decent back down to the village.

Stayed in Bedoin and visited Vaison la Romaine which is amazing and steeped in history. Huge market day and wonderful sights - worth a visit

Something for everyone here ,a massive market twice a week in summer ,sells everything ,great historical interests ( romain bridge ,roman theatre etc) great cafes ,restaurants ,coffee shops and shops .kids love the river beaches ,castle and fountains they can play in in the square . Great place to visit .

Welcoming hostess. Charming house, home from home. Very central and plenty to see. Excellent market within walking distant . Beautiful garden with stunning views. Will definitely return

Small town atmosphere with not many tourists. Lot's of nice cafés and restaurants. The roman ruins are worth seeing. The place really has a medieval feel to the architecture, especially on the hill area overlooking the town.

It's nice for shopping and it has a beautifull old Romen theatre to vistit, few nice restaurants to. Visit the old village too, on the other side of the river! You have to see that!

Nice little town to walk around in and the market is great, one of the largest in the area. Also there is a nice walking map you can get from the TI office. Definitely take a stroll up to the old city for the views

Loved the medieval town part of Vaison la Romaine. This town is a great spot to pick for anyone's needs - lots of vineyards and interest for history buffs.

Just off the beaten track enough so that it is not over run with tourists, yet with enough attractions to keep you busy. Wonderful Roman ruins and museum, quaint streets and shops, plus the market on Tuesday morning is a don't miss.

Very Quaint, cobbled little alleyways up to the Castle amazing views, Lots of Art and Galleries in this beautiful little place.Walk all the way to the Castle, with restaurants on the way up, also little boutique hotels nestled amongst the villagers homes.

Very walkable town with a great vibe. Be sure to be there on market day, Tuesday. What a treat! Lots of shops and restaurants that demonstrate local culture.

Vaison is a lovely little vacluse town, plenty to see and do all within walking distance. You can do culture, with the roman remains,(and there's a lot still to be discovered), or you can do eating and drinking! There are many good places to eat throughout the town, along with a number of very good vineyards around. The market on a Tuesday is large and gets very busy so go early! It is spread throughout the town and you can buy anything, but don't worry there are also several supermarkets in town.
