We and our 9 and 11 year old boys thoroughly enjoyed our 2 hour experience at the Gorges. We wandered along a metal walkway through the narrow and dramatic canyon and found it fun and atmospheric. Quality of food at restaurants outside was not good - recommend you go to nearby town or take a picnic

Some might be put off a little by the 9.5 euro entrance fee for adults but when you see the scale of the operation (a metal walkway above the rolling river which has cut a narrow, sharp canyon over thousands of years) there are strong ropes to hold onto, netting which stop rocks from overhead falling on you and safety helmets are provided. So the views and photo I opportunities are definitely worth a drive there from the coast or wherever you're staying within an hour ?

Brilliant visit to the gorge. Quiet and peaceful. Worth the trek up to the top.Toilets were a hole,in the ground! Small cafe And gift shop but not too commercialised which made it better

Awesome, in the truest sense of the word. An unexpected deep gash in the landscape, only 3' wide in places, with towering cliffs on either side & fallen boulders trapped halfway down by the steep sides of the gorge. Carved by a smallish mountain stream eating its way steadily down through the limestone sides of the Pyrenees over millennia, leaving different levels of weirdly smooth concave basins, with plants clinging to their sides. The walkway feels very sturdy & the nets overhead to stop falling rocks are very reassuring, and the compulsory safety helmets are fully adjustable & not too hot or uncomfortable. Butterflies everywhere, even in the deepest, coolest reaches! There are tables at the entrance (which is also the exit as you come down the same way you went up) where you can eat your own picnic & watch the geckos going about their little lives, as well as a couple of cafes & gift shops; we bought ice-creams/drinks there & they were not overpriced for an attraction. Be warned that the loos (only available at the entrance, so go before you climb, if in any doubt) are of the traditional French variety, if you have fussy teens on board. But we all loved the Gorge & would recommend it heartily.

Absolutely amazing. We were staying in Arles sur Tech and was only minutes drive. We took along a 3 year old who loved it although needed a little carrying for some of the stairs. We had Catalan sausage at the cafe post walk and although basic just what was required and very tasty. These kiwis woudl recommend. Go early to avoid people traffic we started at 930 and there was hardly a soul.

Unexpected place. The canyon is indeed very narrow and deep. The kids loved it. This is not a tourist trap. It can be surpringly cold, even during a hot summer day, so be ready.

The gorge is easy to find on the D115 main road heading out of Arles sur Tech towards Prats de Mollo la Preste. There is a massive sign from this road. Parking is well organised and when you arrive you will be told where the parking space is. Parking is free. Entry to the gorge is €9.50 per person aged over 10 years old. This is quite expensive but worth the experience. As per previous posts there are limited explanations on the formation of the gorge and the flora and fauna. When you arrive at the entrance to the gorge everyone is given a hard hat to wear. The metal pathway follows the top of the river all the way up the gorge. At times it is very wet as you go through drips or small streams. Sometimes it as cold as 14°C in the areas where there is no sunlight. The metal pathway is well kept and heads all the way up. This also includes 235 steps at various stages along the way. Bring your camera as there are lots of opportunities. There are a few stopping off points with seats along the track. It took us about 45 minutes to go up the gorge and just under half an hour to come back down. It was quite busy but this didn’t spoil the overall experience. There are several cafes at the bottom of the gorge at the car park which are reasonably priced selling food and drinks. There is also a small souvenir shop. Overall, this is a well organised attraction with the hard hats and set route and well worth the visit.

Went as a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 kids.It had rained the previous night, was predicted to be cloudy at our beach, so thought this might be a good idea, as the flow of water would have increased. I think I was right.Very impressive scenery, nice gradients along the way.I think the prices for 10 year olds brought them into the adult category, so it was just under EUR40 for a family of 4. If you pardon the pun, I thought that was very steep. There was no discount for families. EUR30 for a family of 4 would be about right. The price was a lot higher then that quoted in Rough Guide (latest edition), and I would have gone to a different attraction if I had known about the higher prices. Could not find a website for this location in advance.I thought the kids would have got more out of it (aged 10 and 14), but I think the lack of information about the gorge along the way made it not really interactive for their benefit. We all enjoyed the narrowness of the gorge and the rushing of the water, below our feet. There were very few visitors here considering the time of year. Finally, once you come off the motorway, I don't think I have ever had to go around as many roundabouts in the 20-30 kms, as I did driving there and back

Spectacular scenery, easy walking, The hard hats that are worn, and the incredible netting that has been built above the gorge - reminds you of the danger of falling rocks. The 1.5 km along the steel walkway makes it possible to experience the narrowness of the gorge and the rushing of the water, below your feet . The plants were identified along the way. Overall a good experience I didn't find out information about this site from the tourist brochures- rather a friend recommend it . So I think it could be included more in the Orienteles Pyrenees tourist brochures . It should be promoted to a wider tourist audience - including non- French . We travelled 60km to visit the gorge and enjoyed it. The water flowing down see to form stalactites

No exagero.
