Came across this cathedral while exploring the Christmas Markets of Strasbourg. Not very impressive from outside when compared to the catholic cathedral, but has a very interesting history and the interior is very ornamental and a free guide brochure is available in many languages to explain the history and direct you to the principal features.Well worth a visit.

I didn't think this church was especially thrilling to look at but the history was really interesting to read about in the free packets!

While the Cathedral is awe-inspiring, our favorite church in Strasbourg is Saint Pierre le June. As stated by others, the self-guided tour points out all the features of the church (don't miss a walk around the cloisters). The church reminded me of many that we saw in Italy. The paintings on the walls and the rood-screen are worth the visit. It was peaceful and serene compared to the crowds in the cathedral. We actually spent more time here than we did in the cathedral. The church needs help in restoration and I felt bad seeing all the money tourists were spending at the cathedral and passing up this church. This is one church that I felt good donating to since entrance was free.

among the amazingly original sculptures that have been removed from the cathedral to preserve them (copies in place on the cathedral) do not miss the achingly beautiful Veiled Synagogue and the smiling Tempter holding out an apple to the foolish Virgins of the parable

This church is absolutely worth a stop on your visit. You're able to do a self guided tour - but it's quite important to take your time and not rush through as there is a lot of history in between the walls!

This church is remarkable and far more interesting that the cathedral. There are written guides that you can use as you walk around. In the summer there are concerts on Friday nights; when we were there there four singers from Leipzig followed by a local chamber music group. Admission is free, payment by donation. Also, there is opportunity to donate to the church itself after you have walked around it, and we were glad to contribute to the upkeep of this wonderful place.

This church is worthy of several visits. Its frescos themselves are breathtaking. Then add the altarpiece and other wonder items, and you 'll want to come back multiple times to take it all in!

This church is so amazing! It is free to enter and they provide you with a self-guided pamphlet when entering. It's important to take the time to walk through the entire church as there is so much to see and so much history.

While all the other tourists flock to the Cathedral, why don't you turn off the beaten track and visit this enchanting gem? This lovely church, the oldest in Strasbourg, retains many of its enchanting, colourful Mediaeval frescos, some sadly in poor repair, but others have been restored and glow like jewels. It's sad to see that so much of the stonework and paintwork has been affected by damp, I hope that the church can raise the money for much-needed repair work. Behind the choir screen, the whole place turns extravagently green-and-silver rococo festooned with putti, a total surprise. Turn off on the left and you'll find the little cloister and well, a wonderfully peaceful place even though more modern buildings loom all around. Look up, and even the vaults of the cloister are decorated. One of my favourite places in Strasbourg.

I liked its sober and quiet interior, the paintings on the walls and the architecture. Besides it is very well situated and easy to find.

Colourful medieval church, every single corner of this church is full with details, we couldn't stop finding more nice decorations and needs urgently charity to keep the church in good condition.

Beautiful church dating from the 11th to 15th centuries . Original due to it's frescoes around the main vault...Worth a visit if you appreciate old European churches...

This Protestant church is actually 3 churches which were built in succession since 1031. This is one of the most beautiful churches I've seen in Europe. Frescoes depicting the life of Christ adorn the walls, and the church leads you from one chapel into another. It is like opening one box to discover another. Well worth a visit.

This unpretentious church with great history is only a short walk from the cathedral and it is easy to see its greenish looking spire from faraway. There are at least three churches with the same name in Strasbourg and the Catholic St. Pierre le Jeune is also not so faraway from this one. Both churches provide a laminated information pamphlet at the entrance, which is to be returned when leaving.
