For anyone who loves cars, particularly older classic cars, this has to be the finest collection of cars anywhere. The story behind this incredible collection is brilliant and the results are there for us all to see for 12 Euros. The cars range from the very first through some of the finest examples you will ever see to some recent examples. The museum has an excellent website. There is a good basic cafe and a good restaurant. Be prepared to spend all day there. A fleeting visit just won't do.

We stopped for a quick visit to this museum, that turned into more than 2 hours of fascination. We are not car collectors, or even car enthusiasts, but this was a real treat for both myself and my husband. There are only cars from Europe, so no Model T's, but plenty of racing cars, and other incredible cars including Rolls-Royce, Bugatti, Mercedes-Benz, and Ferrari, Porsche, Alpha Romeo , as well as others, that take you back to when they first came out. Really fun to see! The cost to get in was very reasonable, and there is a paid parking lot in front of the museum with plenty of parking. Young and old will enjoy this! There are also audio guides available in various languages, and the displays are in French and English.

From the moment I left the car park and saw the entrance display of suspended suspended cars alongside flying wild geese art installation I knew this was special. It just gets better and better at every turn. I have run out of superlatives. The collection is truly jaw dropping. The only place that compares is The Goodwood Festival of Speed, or the Goodwood Revival where all the cars are racing.I spent a rushed three hours whizzing round, but could have easily stayed much longer, but had to leave to drive back to Calais. My only criticism is that at 16-00 there is no food or drink available. Not even drinks from a machine. I find this inexplicable. But days later, I am still on a high, grateful my Sony Experia lasted for 500 photos, and gave good results. You have to see this place.

Super fun museum- special treat to see the new Bugatti! The only criticism is the restaurant didn't look so great in terms if good choices.

Superb collection of vehicles, if somewhat biased towards French and German brands (but it is located in Alsace, after all). Easily accessible in the centre of town with a huge car park.

Largest Bugatti collection worldwide, but there's more to see. Good access and easy to walk through. To be complemented with the Railway museum visit to have a comprehensive overview of the mechanical industry in the region.

A must for the car enthusiast! I am not, but i still enjoyed a wander round and the array of vintage cars and paraphernalia, like bonnet ornaments, Beautifully presented over a large area

If you like Bugattis and other rare and exotic pre-war cars this collection is unsurpassed. Not only Bugattis but three 2900 8C Alfa Romeos and a pair of Mercedes Silver Arrow racers made this a display not to be missed. I have visited this museum before, twenty years ago, and this repeat visit didn't disappoint. Fantastic.

Over 500 cars collected by two brothers it is now been transferred to France and is an awesome collection. It includes over 40 Bugatti's including a Bugatti pick up truck I won't give away any of the other marvelous surprises.

Loved it all. The world's most complete Bugatti collection, together with many of the very first european automobiles. Mostly Euro centric, so it complements what you may have seen in the US. Really huge place, allow a full day and take breaks!

The Schlumpf Collection in Mulhouse. As we had a rainy day, we decided to go for a visit of the “Schlumpf Collection”The National Auto Museum in Mulhouse. As we are both “Old-timer Lovers” we were more than happy to finally be there, and people believe it or not, what “Mekka is for the Muslim People” well this museum is for “Old Car lovers” their “MEKKA”.The collection consists out of about 400 cars, and contain the biggest collection of “BUGATTI Cars” this museum is a totally different world. We started the visit at 10h00 in the morning (on the visit you also receive included in the entrance fee) an audio phone, so that you are able when you like to know more on a certain car, you put the car number into it and so you will hear everything on the car. The museum has also two restaurants, and as it was around noon we decided to interrupt our visit and went to have diner in one of them, we had chosen the self-service one so we did not had to lose much time. After we had our diner (price quality was ok) we returned to see the rest of the collection, so it was around the time of 15h30 that we arrived at the end of our visit and day, time to return, we left the museum with over 400 pictures, I think this say´s more than enough. We can warmly recommend all Old Car Lovers a visit to this museum, it is not cheap but more than worth his price, as Old Car Lover you have to see this once in our live time.
