A quaint little street, with cobbles. The traders are on both sides of the pedestrianised street and have their displays of amber jewellery displayed in cabinets. It is difficult to believe Gdansk was flattened to rubble at the end of WWII. The street has been sympathetically restored and its hard to know what is new and what is original.
Really beautiful street in Gdansk With old architecture Worth visiting. Shops selling amber and jewellery.I would recommend buying and visiting the old man in Number 7. He fixed mmy amber ring in short time for a little charge. In addition he let us try the polishing machine to give us good experience hos amber jewellery are made and even gave us a sample of Natural Amber! So if you want to buy something see this old man :)
This is a very special street which you should not miss - especially if you like jewallery and Amber - which we do not to that extent. But the street is beautiful.
...Street in the Old Town. Do not miss it!! It is a perfect street for a slow stroll, for sitting down and enjoying your coffee. The architecture is great and almost all crowd seems to disapperar...
This street leaves impression of a medieval port street, especially at night. Now there are lots of caffe, restaurant and souvenirs. At the end of the street there is a huge Mariachka's Cathedral which is worth visitting as well.
Apart from a couple of cafés, the whole street is filled with Amber shops. They're all a bit dear. There's a much nicer one for small stuff (earrings, pendants, rings) on Piwna. It looks best at night by streetlamp when the shops are closed and you can see the stone serpent waterspouts and building facades more clearly. It looks particularly beautiful of a dark winters night under snow.
You feel there so as you come back to the ancient years. Amber market along the street ! The street leading directly to the river
If you recall an old TV series from 1979 entitled "Buddenbrooks" based on Thomas Mann's novel of the same title, or the novel itself, you need to visit this place. It was the shooting location for the series, but to feel the spirit of 19th century high life, wander for a while from booth to booth selling amber jewelry and other little treasures. The street becomes crowded during high season, but this is what you need to accept.
Very nice place , reasonable prices. She shopped : while I enjoyed a beer, a perfect combination. Loved the relaxed ambience as I sat on the terrace. I could have stayed for a 2nd, but we moved on.
If you want to buy some Amber, this is the place for you. A quaint cobbled street with lots of small shops, beautifully lit up at night
This street is basically where amber jewelry is sold, nothing special, nor eye catching. Most of it seems quite similar, table after table of almost identical amber jewelry. If you walk real slow and look at each shop, it will take about 40 minutes tops.
Very nice, quiet street, not far from the mainstreet. For me there were too much amber shops and sellers. Nothing else.....
The nicest small romantic street you could image, with old, historical buildings and many restaurants. We had a very nice meal here and sat on the terrace, lovely. In daytime there are a lot of amber shops worth visiting.
If you can stay on this street for awesome old world feel at Gotyk House. Avoid Maisto Anielow across the river. DO visit the main market street few streets over and the crane.
This is the most charming and romantic street in the whole town - especially when the sun is just setting down... a true gem! Sit down in one of the cafes, enjoy a nice drink and enjoy a spot of people watching :) Czarujaca i romantyczna ulica, piekna w promieniach zachodzacego slonca... prawdziwy skarb! Odprez sie przy kawie/piwie w jednym z ogródków w piekny sloneczny dzien
