Fatmomakke is an amazing place to visit. The church town is packed with traditional Sami huts with grass roofs and wooden shelters. One of them is open so that you can take a peek inside. There are also some displays explaining the history of church towns and Sami people. The church is open, and worth a quick look - it is very simply decorated inside. The whole area is packed with interesting birds, and there are great views across the lake.

Till denna sköna plats har jag återvänt ett flertal gånger för att bara njuta av naturen och kulturbyggnaderna. Min son konfirmerades här på 90talet, det var så vackert att jag gick tårar i ögonen att se dessa förväntansfulla ungdomar stå på kyrktrappan efter en veckas vandring över fjället med samtal om livet. Byggnaderna runtom Fatmomakke används fortfarande och platsen befolkas för midsommarfirande och andra samlingar, oftast med samisk kultur som kärna.
