Boat tickets can be obtained from Stressa. Allowed yourself a full day if you wish to visit all 3 islands. Lots of eateries and cafe and not to mention the beautiful blooms which take us by surprise in early April .. Take your time and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Be inspired and soak yourselves in this heaven on earth..

Take a very short ferry ride from Stresa, slightly further from Laveno, Pallanza or Intra to Isola Bella (palace and gardens) and Isola Pescatore (village). These are magical places, a few hundred metres offshore from Stresa, occupied for millenia by fishermen, but for almost 400 years Isola Bella has been a palazzo and beautiful formal garden owned by the Borromeo Family.

This is an amazing place.Take a ride from NLM Locarno into seaside Italy for great views on a clear summer day. Highly recommended.

We took the cruise to Isole di Brissago from Ascona and then on to Locarno, and it was the perfect way to spend a summer afternoon. The cruise stopped at several small villages, so we were able to get some sense of the towns along the shoreline. The island was glorious in its summer colors. We spent about an hour and a half strolling around the island. There is a restaurant in the villa, but, unfortunately, we did not try it as we'd had a huge lunch in the grotto in Ascona. After we got back on the boat, we stopped at several more villages before arriving in Locarno.The weather was hot and humid, but out on the lake it was glorious. This is a wonderful way to get a sense of the Swiss part of Lake Maggiore. The Swiss Pass is not valid on the lake, and there is admission to the island gardens, but it was well worth the price. Buono!

Busy large Sunday market alongside the lake, accessible by boat or car. Clothing, food, leather goods, jewellery etc. Worth a visit.

Was soll man zu so einem tollen See sagen. Einfach selber erleben und genießen. Essen trinken und die Landschaft.

Озеро,расположенное и в Швейцарии и в Италии.Разные города и разные тили.Аскона,Бриссаго и Итальянские Стреза,Каннобио,Бавено,Каннеро.Каждый самобытный и оригинальный.Озеро завораживает.Множество ресторанчиков и красивых гостиниц- и больших как в Стреза и небольших как в других городах.Везде уютно и гостеприимно.Особенно крамиво в Швейцарской Асконе и Итальянской Стреза.

Ja der Lago Maggiore ist und bleibt das Tessin schlechthin. Viele Örtchen wo man verweilen kann, herrliche Cafes, Restaurants wo man sich auch gemütlich hinsetzen kann und die herrliche Seepromenade, ich glaube das reicht schon als Bewertung

lekker zwemmen in de zomer. veel mooie authentieke dorpjes langs het meer. vele overnachtingen mogelijkheden. Zowel luxe hotels als fijne campings.

Le lac majeur est magnifique, toutes les villes sont charmantes! Un cadre sublime pour un week-end end prolonge ou une semaine de paix et de vie à l italienne. Ispra, Laveno et Stresa sont absolument charmants! Il est facile de traverser le lac en utilisant la navette entre Ispra et Laveno, 20 min de traversée, un bateau toutes les 1/2h. À faire!

Sono cresciuta a Locarno: le rive del lago maggiore offrono di tutto: campeggi, piste ciclabili, rive per il bagno, nautica, gite in battello alle isole di Brissago o Borromee; splendide passeggiate e lungolaghi romantici (Ascona, Muralto), costellati da piccoli ristorantini, grottini e Alberghi e magnifici parchi e giardini, nel massimo della pulizia e bellezza.

Naturalmente tutto il contesto. L'impegno dei giardinieri per valorizzarlo con piante e fiori particolari son degni di nota.

La cittadina di Cannobio, ultimo comune italiano, in provincia di Verbania, sulla sponda occidentale del Lago Maggiore, prima della svizzera Locarno,nel suo insieme rappresenta una tavolozza di colori per comporre un quadro magnifico, pieno di luce, dai toni sgargianti e gioiosi. C'è tutto quello che serve per rendere ameno il soggiorno. Molto piena di turisti nella stagione estiva, da il meglio di se verso maggio con lo scoppio di colori per la fioritura della sua immensa varietà di piante e fiori. Gustarsi una coppa di gelato seduto nella bella e curata piazza davanti il porticciolo turistico, ammirando il panorama del lago, rilassa e ricarica di stimoli nuovi rigenerando lo spirito. All'estremo nord della passeggiata sul lungolago c'è il Lido. Una delle spiagge più frequentate del Lago Maggiore, dove si può predere il sole, praticare sport acquatici come vela o windsurf, dietro la spiggia esiste un bel parco che termina con un'ampia e attrezzata zona sportiva,oltre a camping e piscina. Non mancano tipiche vie con caratteristici negozi. Dietro il paese si apre la Valle Cannobina, paradiso degli amanti della natura. Se si alloggia nella tipica locada albergo L' Antica Stallera si sentirà il calore e l' attenzione che apprezza il turista. Merita poi un passaggio ai Pironi, famoso locale di prestigio ( bar, albergo), allocato in un caratteristico edificio medioevale magistralmente ammodernato.
