We easily caught the train down from Savonlinna (24 mins) to the cute station at Lusto, across the road from the museum. The snow was clean, crisp and dazzlingly white around a strongly designed museum building complex.The museum is a surprisingly well constructed collection telling the story of the development and practises of the Forestry industry in Finland, including backgrounds on the workers lives and the postwar economic circumstances. As I type, the description sounds like a dry museum, but nothing could be further from the truth.This is chock full of films, exhibits, demonstrations and interactive displays for all ages. The machinery hall is incredible. Lots of interesting displays on timber finishing and products.We left 3.5 hours later but could have stayed longer. Both of us were enthralled. This is a place for all seasons, but, unfortunately, the cafe is not open in winter.There are a number of walking trails around to complete your visit.Highly recommended.

Seemed appropriate to go to a forest museum in Finland - but we liked this a lot. A real range of exhibits about the 'old days' of floating logs down the river, history, ecology, technology, nature.The tower of chainsaws is impressive - liked the 'insect' tree feller too!Follow up with visit to nearby Punkaharju ridge or Retretti arts centre

Tickets are too expensive compare to what you actually can see there.Service is good. Concrete walls doesn't fit to forest museum... so they could do something more, that place feels like a forest museum.

In this museo and around it in these small, different kind of different forest and trees you really can go back behind the centuries to see how "Finland lives from the forests!"

This museum covers all aspects of trees and forestry in Finland from the history of forestry, tree husbandry, uses of timber to the machines used to harvest it. The exhibits are arranged in a very fluid way with lots of explanatory text in English as well as Finnish. There are lots of hand on exhibits so great for kids (big or small!). I found that the museum gave a good overview of Finnish culture and you certainly do not need to have an existing interest in forestry to get a lot out of a visit. The cafe is great with a lovely balcony. The gift shop is well stocked with lots of Finnish made wooden items and almost no tacky souvenirs! The building which houses the museum is really something too! There is a combined ticket for Lusto and the Retretti gallery and you can borrow a bike to cycle the 2kms or so.

Много интересных объектов: замечательный зал тишины, манипуляторы, медвежья берлога.... Интересные временные экспозиции. Дети от 3 до 13 провели в музее половину дня и не хотели уходить

Живописное месторасположение музея леса. В музее есть WI-FI и около каждого стенда штрих код, и при наличии в смартфоне спец.приложения, можно выйти на сайт и прочитать всю информацию о стенде на нужном языке. Очень удобно! Понравились симуляторы лесной техники, с помощью которых можно поперетаскивать большие деревянные кубы и почувствовать себя лесорубом. Интересно не только для детей, но и для взрослых. Понравился стенд с бензопилами разных времен и стран! Большое количество телевизоров, по которым транслируются фильмы, посвященные лесу, лесорубам. Можно увидеть каким образом делали деготь, сплавляли лес по рекам и прочее. Познавательно и очень увлекательно. Отличное кафе и магазинчик с сувенирными товарами.

森林や林業に興味がある人は一生に一度は訪れるべき森林博物館。フィンランドの林業の歴史がわかり、朽ち果てた昔の林業機械の展示が興味深い。森林の中を6本足で歩く歩行型林業機械の展示もある。これは世界に2台しかないプロトタイプのうちの一つ。入場料は10ユーロだが、展示内容からみて、これは高くはないと思う。交通機関はレンタカーが便利で、これ以外はないように見える。サボンリンナのお城とあわせて訪れるとよい。

musée génial consacré au bois et à la forêt. Très beau bâtiment en matériaux bruts (bois et béton ciré), avec des volumes très intéressants et surtout parfaitement occupés par les nombreux aspects de l'exposition. Très intéractif : séduira aussi bien les enfants que les adultes ! beaucoup de maquettes, des vidéos, des petites activités, tous les sens sont mobilisés (odeurs de la forêt, sons de la nature dans la géniale "chambre du silence", toucher des pelage des animaux en tout genre, essences de bois à peser, toucher, comparer, sentir... et tellement de choses à voir !). on peut même apprendre à conduire un engin pour couper et transporter le bois dans les forêts ! un vrai bonheur et un enchantement qui nous a occupé plusieurs heures !

Очень интересный музей. Здесь каждый, независимо от возраста, найдет для себя что-то новое и ценное. Билеты дороговаты 10 евро с взрослого, 25 евро семейный билет (2 взрослых, 2 детей от 7 до 14). Но это стоит того. Мы зависли там на 4 часа. Рекомендую всем.

Стоит пересилить иногда себя, и несмотря на кажущуюся большую цену билета пойти в этот музей. Расположен рядом с дорогой на Савонлинну. Большая парковка. Хорошее кафе на территории.Много интерактива. Помимо фотографий, много телевизоров, на которых показывают фильмы о том, какие способы заготовки леса применялись раньше. Множество реальных экспонатов. В одном из помещений - настоящая техника. А особо пытливые могут забраться в трактор и поперетаскивать с места на место большой деревянный кубик.В общем и для взрослых, и для детей есть чем заняться.

Прекрасное место.билет стоил 4 евро, был праздник. Ярмарка, выступления театра кукол, танцевальных детский коллективов. Встертили на кассе финку коорая очень хорошо говорит по русски . Все нам рассказала и объяснила. Экскурсию брать не стали.музей интеррактивный так что и самим можно разобраться. Очень понравились фильмы о жизнь лесорубов.и современная техника))) парковка большая бесплатная.внутри музея очень милое кафе

Wer sich im Allgemeinen für Forstwirtschaft und Wald und sich speziell für Finnlands Wälder interessiert sollte Lusto besuchen. Das Muesum ist weniger ökologisch ausgerichtet sondern widmet sich dem Wald als Wirtschaftsraum und Motor der Entwicklung Finnlands. Gezeigt werden Maschinen und Exponate aus dem Leben der Holzarbeiter, Flößer, Holzverarbeiter und Jäger. Daneben gibt einen "Raum der Stille" und Einiges über Braunbären in Finnland. Die Exponate sind durchgängig Finnisch und Englisch beschildert. Wir waren mit Kindern 14 und 10 dort, auch denen hat es sehr gut gefallen. Im Keller kann man übrigens selbst einen Holzrücksimulator steuern ! Das Museum ist architektonisch und pädagogisch gut gelungen und verdient mehr Besucher. Im Freigelände finden zuweilen Aktionen statt. Im Museumsshop gibt es witzige Mitbringsel, allerdings teuer. Auch der Eintritt ist nicht gerade preiswert.

LUSTO befindet sich in Punkaharju, dessen Naturschutzgebiet eine der schönsten und bekanntesten ”National-Landschaften” Finnlands darstellt. Lusto ist ein Spezialmuseum für alles was mit dem Wald zusammenhängt, über Holzindustrie bis Hobbies und Erlebnissen - kurz gesagt “Waldkultur”.
