Overall excellent experience kids loved it family geared i must say...if u got kids then they will love it!!!
One of the best placed to see in CardiffVery peacefull and lots to see Great for famlies there is lots to see and do .
Fascinating walk around the site, wonderful old buildings, have been there dozens of times and each time is a pleasure. Don't forget to visit the small bakers shop - the fresh bread is delicious and you must try their Bara Brith, a Welsh cake that is scrumptious with butter and a nice cuppa! Visit the row of old shops and see what was on sale decades ago; the row of old Welsh houses that are still as they were in the 1950's; the lovely old church - all having been carefully transplanted from their original sites and rebuilt on site.As well as small this, your visit won't be complete without a look round the castle and Elizabethan Manor House, one of the finest in Wales. The museum is a great place to walk around too, and you can round off your visit by a delicious snack in the very good cafe. There is a small parking charge but admission to everything else is free. There's a good gift shop there too, to buy presents or just a memento of a really good day out for all the family.
Visited with my 10 year old son half term. Despite having been several times before there always seems to be something new to see. Staff very helpful, polite and interesting to see the blacksmith at work. Bakery always worth a visit - bara brith very good.
Loved the visit but needed much more than a day trip. Bit crowded, but that's normal for August. Didnt see half what we planned but really enjoyed what we did. Must go back!
Great to take the kids and learn more about the history of the local area. Parking is £3.50 for the day. The animals weren't out in the month of February.
I went with my boyfriend as it was a lovely day and we were quite skint. It was a lovely walk around, lots of wildlife and although lots of building work going on cannot wait to go back and see it finished!
The museum is set in acres. It is really enjoyable to wander among the buildings from different eras. Fascinating view of Welsh history. The guides were really knowledgeable. I would have liked more guides around the parkland.
Small fee for parking, free entry.A huge, traffic free site with a diverse range of fascinating buildings that have been transported from all over Wales. Also features farm animals, picnic spots and cafe areas. You could easily spend a day going in and out of the buildings, strolling the grounds and gardens and staring at cows. Very family friendly, good access for buggies throughout except for upstairs in the buildings.Don't miss the prefab and row of cottages through the ages. Also worth checking out the 'what's on' section as they do some great events and have visiting farmers markets etc. Brilliant.
We have been to St.Fagans quite a lot especially since its Free to enter, all you need to pay for is the parking And its a great day out thats loved by us all. There are 6 of us, 2 adults and 4 children aged 9, 7, 5 and 2. There is so much to do there for the kids like adventure trails, butter making, a small farm with pigs, ducks, chickens and even bee hives which the kids loved but wouldnt go near for some reason lol and big lakes to walk around. There are a few shops there as well which replicate the old days like the Gwalia stores which sells the old type of jams etc and there is also a lush bakery there that makes the best fresh bread around here. We have seen us going there just to buy the bread if we havent had any time to spend there on certain days.I would highly recommend this place as you can go into the old houses and mills etc and they all have staff inside that you can ask questions too and they are all very informative and can learn a lot from them. The kids loved the castle there as well but were gutted that we couldnt stay the night there.Highly recommended
