Played Monifieth on the Sunday morning of the Ryder Cup. The Medal course offered a fair and true test of Scottish links golf. The wind was down, but there were still many challenging shots. Greens were very true and a great speed.
I played the Medal course at the beginning of October - my first visit in many years and I was not disappointed . Staff at the starters box were friendly and welcoming. The course, particularly the greens, were in exceptional condition. A true links course and a great test of golf
After playing Gullane and Montrose on our trip our 6 ball thought Monifeith was an outstanding course equal if not better in overall condition and enjoyment. The fairways are pretty tight but you get quite a bit of run if you hit them, the bunkers are superb and the greens are as true and fast as we have played all year, a real testThe welcome was great, as was the pro and the food in the club, a must-play course
I played in a 4BBB comp on Sunday the 5th October. The course was in terrific shape , the fairways were excellent and the greens phenomanal. The Starter was very helpful. If you like golf on the coast this course is worth a visit
Very enjoyable course and selected tee times are half price.Very friendly welcome from the starter. Course in great condition with very fast greens
The medal and ashludie are a must for golfers of all grades.we played here in August and the courses just keep getting better(we've had our outing 3 years in a row).all the staff are friendly and the grange club house is a good place to end your day, good food and drink all very reasonable.
Two courses to choose from, wonderful people in and around the golf courses. Very helpful and understanding, and there's some challenging golf on both courses.
Played Monifieth as part of a seven course tour. Rated them best greens we played. Friendly club with real friendly people. a pleasure to play and will go again...
Great golf course in very good condition. Poor practice facility but the putting green is very good. Recommended for golf fans visiting Dundee.
Wednesday past a friend and I took up the Courier's Golf for £12 at the Ashludie Golf Course. On arrival in the very well appointed car park - paved and with very clear demarcations - we made our way to the starters' box where we were made to feel very welcome and given very clear directions on how to find the Ashludie Course. Unfortunately the weather was not kind to us - the day started damp and drizzly with a cold-ish wind that turned to heavy rain and a bitterly cold wind by the time we got to the hole geographically farthest from our starting point so we decided to continue with our game. The rain eased off when we got to the 13th but started again when we were mid-way through the 14th. But weather aside we thoroughly enjoyed our game. The Ashludie course is very well maintained, the course staff are courteous and patient while we tried to get out of their way as they tried to stay out of ours. There are some evil hillocks on the course which makes it all the more challenging. There is access to at least three official places where a player can take a comfort break whilst on the course - I was very, very impressed by this. Unfortunately we did not have time to visit any of the three Club Houses that border the Medal Course. Maybe next time. I would highly recommend this course to golfers of all skill levels. The only downside is the lack of water hazards.
We played the ashludie course, is a compact course but with plenty of tricky lies to keep you on your toes, its very well kept. Starter staff were very helpful andpoped by on a golf buggy to ask how we were getting on
My favourite course in Angus, a good links course ( with mainline railway between the course and the sea) in great spring condition- a little challenging in the wind, a friendly clubhouse with good food.
Played some winter golf, midweek, on the Monifieth Medal course and found it a wonderful track. Found the staff very friendly and helpful, from the starter, the professional, green staff and members. The course was in pristine condition and we were pleasantly surprised to find all greens on, we weren't required to use mats and this made for a great round of golf on a great course. We were extremely fortunate in that the weather was absolutely beautiful and I have to say, the course looked stunning. The staff were so good, I'm sure they might have had something to do with the fact there was no wind either. Also has another course available for play.
Played Monifieth as part of a week end trip the course is tough but fair and we had wind also. However the day was excellent particulalrly the Staff in Club Shop and Clubhouse who made us very welcome and food and drink is good qulaity and good price. We had a birthday boy with us and they even cut the ckae we had for him they desrve success. Will be back
A well prepered course despite there being adverse weather and little growth. Playing normally on an inland course it was a delight at this time of year to get onto true greens that the ball was rolling well.
