Have played this golfcourse a few times and each time it gets better. During your round you can stop from time to time to look at the wildlife ( rabbits, squirrels and birds in plenty) and the wonderful scenery. The course is not that hilly in fact there are holes that are as flat as pancakes!.The staff in the golf reception and the cafe/restaurant are very friendly and very helpful and there is a good variety of golf equipment and food available to all.
Played a 4-ball single round on a lovely Friday afternoon.Nice course, well laid out, with some tight fairways and testing holes.A few climbs, but nothing too severe. Some of the rough is heavy, so avoid (I know we all try to avoid)There are a couple of long hikes between green and next tee, if i remember correctly on 3 holes.Changing area, bar and restaurant clean and tidy and average.Staff helpful.Well Worth A Visit
Love this setting for a golf course, a parkland set up using the Esk Valley from river to valley side up to flat area rising almost 300 feet, I loved it but can be a stiff walk, or just take a buggy
good scenic view most of menu fresh don't no about specials had a few bad ones fish and steaks ok worth a try
It has a nice restaurant and function room. The restaurant has lovely views through large windows. The function room is large. We went to a 30th party at night and it held loads of people!
The course and driving range are very pleasant; all the staff, both for golf and dining are most welcoming, unpretentious and helpful; the restaurant food is pretty good and well priced; the venue is dated and in need of a facelift; easy parking; easy access to Edinburgh and surrounding smaller towns (Loanhead, Lasswade, etc.). Small golf shop available.
The Golf Course and Driving Range are worth a visit. Course is quite hilly but worth a try. The bar and restaurant are good, offering the usual fare for this type of establishment. It does stop serving quite early at night so worth a call beforehand to make sure it's open.
Met for lunch with friends. Restaurant dated, although lovely setting. Was not impressed with food or prices. Would rather have fish and chips out of newspaper. Staff very friendly. If I was playing golf and wanted a snack then perhaps it would be acceptable. Not for a celebrationary event.
golf had to be abandoned due to bad weather but knocking out a few balls here eased the pain!
