Boyfriend and I loved it here. Chapel is so interesting and admission fees are completely acceptable (boyfriend charged £9 and myself £7 as im a student). The chapel is beautiful and staff are so so friendly - tour guides are amazing too. The boys in the cafe are so nice - not immature or unfriendly like I've seen some posts say. Strongly recommend for a day trip!

The Rosslyn chapel is not at all what I expected. It is so beautiful, the carving of the stonework is so ornate and elaborate and so full of symbolism you can take from it what you will.The guides are very well informed on the history of the chapel and entertaining too, giving regular talks and tours.Dont forget to have a look at the remains of Rosslyn Castle just around the corner, while you are there

well kept treasure. Great speaker and tour guide. Loved the cat too. Good modern facilities too and plenty of information and history to hand about the place.

This is a truly fascinating chapel. It's got so much history and lovely scenery. The only negative matter here is after you've paid to enter the coffee and gift shop seemed to be a little over priced.

Visited today on a cold wet windy Wednesday.Easy to find and well signposted, with ample free parking.The chapel itself is a beautiful example of its kind, both internally and externally with the most amazing stone carvings I've seen.My only gripe is the price of admission, which at £9 doesn't really offer great value in my opinion, but again if it means looking after such a treasure, then that's to be expected.In all well worth a visit, and you must go down into the crypts, which were featured in the film the da Vinci code with tom hanks!.

A visit here is NOT a disappointment. So often these places are over rated but this lives up to expectations. It is not a large building but the interior is unique in the true meaning of the word and it is certainly worth an hour or two of your time.

Well, of course there is the "connection"; true or not BUT there is so much, much more to see and explore in this bijou gem - the carvings could take a year to thoroughly explore - beautifully restored - thank you - and just gorgeous! Outside there is, of course the exterior with more casrvings and quirky nooks and crannies; the view down through to just glimpse the castle; the barn with evidence of ancient crafts and the stages of carving ... the shop was excellent; the food prices a little steep for our taste but we wouldn't hold that against the venue!!! We were dropped off and collected by car but there are buses from the centre of Edinburgh so very convernient! Wholeheartedly recommend!!

I've been here now twice and it was a pleasure to come back. It's such a lovely little chapel and the decorations will stun you, so many, so beautiful. Yes it's small and the price not cheap but it will be the most beautiful church you will ever see.The guides without exception are very good and their tales make it all come alive. They do a great job. Wait for the next available tour, it's well worth it. Their tales are great specially since a lot is not know about the 1000's of carvings and they will leave a lot over for you to decide what is the most likely story. Look carefully, even the most simple of decorations are never the same, each is individual, simply amazing.I've read a number of the negative comments and I must say most simply don't make sense and are stupid and often have nothing to do with the actual venue. Yes it's not cheap, but it's has required a lot to preserve. Go and be surprised, it's worth it!

A true delight - from the reception staff and restaurant and gift shop area to the amazing detail and stories that can be deciphered from them in the chapel. From one man wanting to buy his place in heaven to a truly wonderful chapel of feeling, expression and history. Its size also means you get up close to all the features and can touch and explore, unlike in larger more impersonal cathedrals and churches. So much history can be credited to the chapel it is so well worth a visit and everyone should go to see it.

We stayed in the village for a weeks tour of Edinburgh and our visit to the Chapel was a highlight. Even our 7 year old enjoyed the experience and the stories. For such an attraction the cafe was lovely & well worth a visit. Not forgetting the Chapel is a beautiful place of local worship.

visited Rosslyn chapel today with my husband, was truly amazing, absolutely breathtaking, very ornate, the staff were very friendly and helpful, very informative, disappointed that you couldn't take photos but understand why, well worth the £9.00 per person, after all need to keep up restoration for many visitors to see in years to come.

What a beautiful chapel. Family owned for centuries, unbelievable. Felt right to pay 9 pounds because by doing so the owner can keep up with the expenses of restoring and/or conserving this place. The floor heating (just to name a thing) was done excellently. The chapel itself is a marvel of mastery.The location is worth a visit as well. Just walk around outside and enjoy.Do stop at the little cafe inside the (must visit) gift shop, good food, reasonably priced and 2 very friendly young men behind the counter!

We visited here nearly 2 weeks ago and absolutely loved it. This is the first time that I have been since the canopy was taken off and wow. At first we thought it was quite expensive at £9 per adult but afterwards I do think it's worth it. The visitor centre is spectacular and although we only had hot drinks the food did look good. We missed the tour but felt the information boards etc very good at explaining things inside the chapel and there were two guides there to answer any of our questions. We even got to meet William the Cat who was a highlight to our 3 year old. Love that you can buy the William the Cat toy to take home too, a lovely little touch. The place is beautiful both inside and out and we will be back next time perhaps to take a tour.

Admission is £9 for adults but we have a concessionary price (£7) and children, visiting as part of a family group, are free of charge. We ask visitors not to take photos inside the Chapel simply because this can distract and inconvenience others but there is no restriction on outside photography for personal use. Make sure you take the tour. There are a lot of small details, easily missed. It's the story that fascinated me most of all. You can see how story tellers like dan brown and others, weaved Rosslyn into their stories.Our guide was a good teller of yarns and I'm sure yours will be too.The story of the local pub is interesting too. Make sure to ask about it.The cafe is good as is the visitor centre.
