I took my 2 nieces that are both in first year at high school, I could tell be their faces that when I told them what we were doing that shopping sounded much more fun. Imagine their and my surprise when we got there they loved it I was hoping to spend an hour or so, we left at closing time approx 5hrs after we got there :-) they loved every minute of it, We can't wait to go back :-)

My husband and I have been here many times and have taken friends, parents and other family members. Its a lovely place to walk around, the animals all look well cared for and content. The cafe is marvellous, the afternoon tea is excellent value and delicious. We shall definitely be back, cameras in hand.

Got a half price voucher on Amazon local. Had been planning to take a trip through before it came up so snap it up. Weather wasn't forecasted to be great, but decided to take a pop through( being Scottish the weather can't hold you back after all). Great to see the numerous Deer species at the park. The kids enjoyed the oppertunity to feed and stroke some of the more outgoing members of the herds. Animal enclosures were very well proportioned and animals all looked in great condition. The bird of prey flying display which was limited to 1 show per day at this time of year was fantastic. The falconer gave a very good talk and display with each bird that she brought out individually and the birds themselves were fantastic (European Eagle owl, Harris Hawk and Lanner Falcon). The Falconry arena was great well spaced with a exclusive feel and enhanced the viewing spectical for the public in my opinion (birds were flying around and in close proximity to the public). This alone was worth the entrance fee for me. The feeding and keeper talks beginning with the otters through to the Carnivores ( Wolfs, Scottish Wildcat, European Lynx, European Brown Bear and Red Fox) were great a chance to see the Bears in particular as they are still in semi hibernation. All in all a great centre great day out and worth the full price ticket of £26 for a family of 4. We will be back again and intend on visiting quite regular. Staff were very friendly and accommodating too. Clean toilets also ( although this maybe reflective of a lower footfall due to the time of year and weather)

We had South African visitors over during our winter and thought we'd take them to The Deer Centre. I've never been before, we got a guided tour and loved it. I would definitely recommend it to everyone.

Friendly and knowledgeable guides. Got to see most of the animals close up. Deers feeding was loads of fun! Recommended for a family trip.

We had a groupon voucher, £15 for two adults and three children, if we had paid the full price I would say that it wasn't value for money. The kids did have a great time, however most of this was playing on the indoor play park....The "paths" between the paddocks that the deer are in were just muddy tracks, why they are just grass rather than hardcore or similar is beyond me, ok they might be fine in summer but wet weather turns them into a challenge very quickly. The Red Foxes which we were keen on seeing turned out to be a single fox.......there was a member of staff trying to coax it out of hiding, they hadn't seen it for a week apparently.Woodland tree top walk was closed for maintenance and "Adventure Playground - A vast play area with a Sand Pit and Climbing Frame. Zip Slide and Static Slide." was poor, certainly not what we were expecting. The go karts, there were only 4 or 5 of them, on an extremely small track with a couple of sharp inclines on it that meant younger children had to be pushed up.Trailer rides - no sign of that being used at all, unhitched inside the barn - perhaps thats only in summer. All that being said the three kids (8, 7 & 6) did enjoy themselves, the Roe deer were very friednly for feeding and they really enjoyed the indoor play area. There was plenty of picnic table both inside and out for you to have your own picnic on and if you wanted to there was also an onsite cafe. What I did think was very good however was the birds of prey demonstration. It wasn't rushed, the lady flew three different birds, an owl, a harris hawk and a lanner falcon and she was extremely knowledgeable about the birds, of which they actually have quite a number. I would actually consider going back again for birds rather than the deer, but not at the full price. Two or three sets of toilets, which although dated were clean and there was a very new looking handwash station outside as well for when you had finished feeding the deer.I've given it three stars because of the excellent birds of prey, other than that it would have been a two. Can't understand it rating so high to be honest.

Had an amazing day today with the girls at The Falconry Experience, bought my husband a voucher for his birthday, Kirsten and her team were brilliant. We met Egg and Wizard to name a few of the birds he was able to handle and feed. Would highly recommend this experience to everyone, the girls are extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. Thank you so much x

Been meaning to go into the Deer Centre for some months now - until now had merely gone to the café for (excellent!) breakfasts. Really glad that I did. Only meant to spend a couple of hours looking at the creatures, but in the end spent nearly five hours there. Wonderful range of animals; not just deer (which were cute beyond words) but wild cats, wolves, brown bears, otters etc. The staff were very friendly and knowledgeable and brought the whole experience to life.We will be returning again later in the spring.

Only went here because the wife wanted to visit, so glad that she did, I was like a kid in a toy shop feeding the deer, could have spent all day here. Walked around a few times and still didn't see enough, staff were really friendly and helpful, falconry display was amazing, staff so knowledgeable about the animals, will go back again and again, totally worth the money.

Now I am a hard to please person at times, and just by chance when touring my country I came across the deer centre, and to be truthful I expected a few deer a few photos and my day was done. BUT! Yes but, when my wife checked the net it said it was a 'park' so of course we were like big kids and thought this will be an adventure...WOW! Of course it was winter, we had no kids, no time limit but snotters, we spent just over 5 hours walking around the park, of course stopping for a cuppa and a scone, and the wee restaurant is worth the money 6 item breakfast for £3 canny' whack it'!Anyway my wife (38) mature adult! Raked through 8 bags of deer food and we were finished at the second fence, we were up close and personal and it was brilliant the variety of deer I was in my glory without even having a sniff at the food! But the falconry was excellent very informative, fun and windswept with the feathers, for £8.50 it's the best money I've spent on a tourist attraction in a very long time! Seeing the Scottish Wildcat & Grey Wolves being fed shamazeballs. The tours, the nose to nose, the feeding and the photos opportunities are fantastic but the professionalism and gratitude of the staff make the day complete_ trust me you won't be disappointed with a visit here, and if you're worried about a little mud on your boots or pram, it's Scotland why even go in the first place! 10/10 from us and I will be adopting and visiting many more times in 2015!

Been several times and always enjoy my visit. Bought 3 bags of food and used them all. Deer were right over to us! Saw the wolves, fox, wildcat, bears, bird show, many species of deer and Elk plus the otters! Cant complain. Signs are there telling us what not to do for safety of animals and ourselves! Nice playparks for kids (and adults) and would advise going to see the carnivores at scheduled feeding times. The staff are very knowledgable and friendly. Cafe quite pricey so bring plenty of cash but fish was good. Overall a great family day out. Come along!!!

A lovely time was had at The Scottish Deer Centre! Highlights included the falconry display and watching the feeding times of the wolves, wildcats, lynx cats, the brown bears and the adorable red fox (who responds to "sit"!). All the handlers were so caring and knowledgeable; they were happy to answer any questions and knew so much about each animal's past. Some of the animals have had an unpleasant start to life and it was so nice to see then well looked after at the park.Of course, there was also the deer! You can buy bags of deer food for £1 and it really was lovely to have them trot over to you and munch out of your hand! We went in Winter so we only spent a few hours there but it's the sort of place that you could easily spend all day at. There's also a nice cafe and farm shop onsite.Thank you for a lovely day out. We'll certainly return next time we're in the area!

The Scottish Deer Centre is a great attraction with plenty of outdoor exhibits and play areas - including go-karts and grass sledging. There's also an indoor play barn (handy for the odd rain shower), cafe and shop. Pricewise, it's reasonable - and you can use Tesco vouchers. There are plenty of picnic areas and you're welcome to bring in your own food.Would recommend for families with kids off all ages.
