Loved this castle! Had a visit in September while touring Scotland. Very pretty setting. Had a guided tour which was well worth it. They know the history of the family that lived there and interesting stories and facts that you might not learn of otherwise.

The long and level walks were a true delight for the senses, either along streams or in forrests. Little bridges to access splendid undergrowth. Our dog enjoyed meeting other four legged company also.

Free entry with our NTS membership cards. Interesting to see how this castles has been modified, stucco ceilings made in all rooms and timber paneling as thermal insulation. As showpiece there was a metal head frame with a lock and a tongue piece to prevent a person from speaking; possibly for gossiping women. Little shop in the basis with coffee and snacks. Pity we could not take pictures inside, also no good pictures available from the website.

we had a lovely time at this castle. loved the style and color of this castle. Very good place for picnic. Beautifully decorated rooms and lovely staff, very good service.

This seven storey castle was completed in 1626 for William Forbes and the Forbes family continued to live in the castle for 350 years. Beautifully decorated and furnished rooms and you are shown around by an interesting and informative guide. We had a lovely visit.

There is a company that does castle tours in Aberdeen but we did our own and this was our favourite. There are so many great castles in the area you could spend years visiting them all - Scotland looks after it's history - well done

A visit inside this picturesque Castle is by Guided Tour, it was explained that this protects the delicate and stunning plasterwork ceilings in each room. Our guide was Isabella; she gave us an entertaining tour of the Castle with lots of stories and history about the Castle and its previous owners and residents.Many thanks for a wonderful visit.

We visited the castle with my 3 children; 14, 4 and 3 and the younger children were instantly engaged with the pink castle that they believed a princess must live in. There was an entrance fee, but we are National Trust members.The only way to explore the castle is on the guided tour, which lasts about 45 minutes. We were slightly apprehensive as the attention span of a 3 year old is significantly less than this but our guide was fantastic; not only was he incredibly knowledgeable and interesting, he was exceptionally patient and great dealing with the children. The tour was fantastic, very interesting and totally engaging. Well worth a visit but book on the tour to get the full experience and explore the castle.

Today i paid a visit to the castle, firstly to meet up with a friend of mine who works there. 2ndly to take the tour around the castle and take in the history and stories concerned with the property. I was introduced to my guide John, who at once made us feel welcome. The thing that stood out though was his up front attitude to health and safety aspects of the castle and what we needed to be aware of. He reminded us of these procedures several times throughout the tour which made me feel good about the tour. His knowledge of the castle and the history was outstanding, even more so when you get to know it is only his 2nd season at the property.A very dedicated person who deserves all the recognition that is due him for his compassion and love of what he does there and how his networking with visitors makes it a tour you would want to do again. Now, i have to mention the lovely Shona, who was on duty at the front desk. Again loving what she does and with a never ending smile that just radiates her personality makes you immediately welcome. I was also introduced to Jim another guide who was dressed in the kilt complete with sporran tweed waist coat and jacket. He brought the castle to life and helped you step back into the history of the place. do i have any negative things to say about my visit???????? No. It was a great visit and as Arnold would say.....I'll be back.....Ahhh who did i forget, Bill, property manager....my friend, you have a great team. THANK YOU ALL.

The outside of the Castle makes this look straight out of a Fairy Tale. It has even got stone cannons. Owned by National Trust for Scotland you have escorted tours around the castle every 15 mins taking about 45 minutes. Interesting furniture and pictures. There is both a priests room and a priest hole. Well worth a visit. Part of the Castle Trail.

My husband, I and friends of us visited this beautiful and "small" castle near Aberdeen.We have an included tour guide of the entire castle, all the rooms and the history of it.It is a fairytale castle, pink, with a great garden..lovely!! Is an attraction not to be missed!

Although I had to wait for the guided tour it was very worthwhile. The tour guide (Fiona) was very pleasant. She kept the tour interesting and added a few funny extra quips. All the staff at the castle were very attentive and made it a very enjoyable visit. Highly recommend.

Apparently this pink castle was used as a model by Disney but inside is more interesting especially as there are a lot of artefacts belonging to the family who owned it.The guide was friendly and informative even letting us in on some of the shennanigans that the laird may have got up to with a maid in the 1920s! Original ceilings, furniture and wood panelling all in very good condition. The winding stairs are not for those with mobility problems.o

We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon at Craigievar Castle. The tour was very well done and covered much of the castle. I wish it would have included the kitchen and dining areas, but most everywhere else was. The grounds are just stunning and there are lots of trails you can hike around. The trails alone are worth the visit, even if you dont want to tour the castle. The admission is a bit steep, but I'm guessing its quite expensive to keep up so its understandable. There is a great deal of stair climbing on the tour and the stairs are narrow and windy, so I wouldnt recommend this tour for anyone needing walking assistance.

visited this castle when we were on holiday at Port Knockie Morayshire.We took my 92 year old mother with us who is disabled sadly castles back then didn't consider people like her so we left her to sit outside as it was such lovely weather.I spoke with a lovely lady called Fiona Robertson who understood that mum was outside and the tour would be 40 mins or so she arranged with her manager Bill Brown that he would show my husband and myself round as the official tour didn't start for another 30 mins what a delight he was full of information and such a lovely person who clearly enjoyed his work. This was so special to us and being able to see it after all the miles travelling to it made our day.On a good day like we had I would advise you to take a picnic and enjoy the ground and the views. There is a little shop where you can purchase gifts.NOT FOR DISABLED.
