My husband and I visited Drayton Manor with our two children on the 27th December 2014, for their Winter Wonderland. It was an absolutely fantastic day out, and great value for money! We chose not to visit Father Christmas this time, our visit being planned for after the big day, so that helped keep costs down. Even though a lot of the park was closed, there was still so much to see and do! My 3yr old adored Thomas Land, as did his dad, who was very pleased at how much attention to detail was paid to make the design true to the books. The Christmas decorations and music helped to create a very magical atmosphere, which extended the excitement of Christmas for all of us. All of the staff on duty were incredibly friendly and helpful, allowing our son to stay on the rides when there was little/no queue. The queue time for rides was very short, although I think it helped that we were there so soon after Christmas! The food and drink wasn't as overpriced as I feared; while there were some things I feel were very pricey for what they were, we were able to get two cups of tea, one juice, three sausage rolls and three cakes for £10, and it was delicious! All of the rides open were suitable for our 3yr old, and there were even a couple of rides we were able to take our 5 month old on. We were initially concerned we wouldn't be able to keep the kids entertained the whole day in order to view the fireworks at the end, but we were completely wrong, there was so much to see and do! I'm so glad we were able to see the firework display, because they were spectacular - and low noise, which suited the kiddies! My one criticism was that we were unable to find a ride that we could all go on for a picture, as there was a 'one adult only' policy, but it maybe a different story when all rides and attractions are open; and I understand that policies like that need to be in place for health & safety reasons! Overall it was a throughly enjoyable day out; thank you to all your staff for making it so magical, and we cannot wait to book again for this year!

This place is fun packed for the under 10s, impeccably clean, lots to do, great food. Just pray the weather is on your side, our little lady had a wonderful day out and will be back in the summer time

Took my son for his 2nd birthday and it was a fantastic day out for any Thomas fan. Rides were brilliant, so much to see and do. Once we had finished with Thomas we also enjoyed the rides in Drayton manor. There was a zoo there too but we just simply didn't have time to look round it. Only thing is, it rained all day when we were there and there is very little shelter

My son (3) are pass holder for Drayton Manor and visited twice this year already. Only Thomas Land and a select few rides were open as out of season. Thomas Land is excellent and my son can go on all rides apart from two as he is 0.95m. The Zoo is great too and a welcome change from the rides. We are Merlin Annual Pass holders too and would say this is similar to Chessington World of Adventures. Both parks are great and a bonus this one is more local. We have also had a meal in the Burger restaurant near Thomas Land. With the pass it was less than £9 for two filling meals and drinks. Can't wait to take my daughter (12) next to sample some of the more intense rides Drayton Manor has to offer.

Took our son for his third birthday and he loved it! He was just the right height to go on all the rides, and of course was very excited to see all his favourite characters. We went on a Thomas weekend when Thomas Land, the zoo, and the adventure parks are open, yet there was still more than enough to do. The only reason the place lost a point is because it felt a bit overcrowded. The train that runs between the two areas had a massive queue, and waiting for 45 minutes with a 3 year old wasn't fun. There were only two trains running, and they seemed to wait around a long time before departing, so hopefully in the summer months there will be a more efficient service. There were also big queues for food and drinks which were expensive. If we hadn't stayed in the park's hotel the night before then I definitely would have taken a picnic.

This park has a lot to offer, including a Zoo! Great day out, with some really good rides, from Thomasland for toddlers to proper rolleercoasters and thrill rides for adults. Knocks spots off Legoland!

Been going Drayton manor for years with family and friends the rides cater to everyone. Love the apocalypse and maelstrom. Love AJ huge ice cream cones shame the old fish and chip shop isn't there and instead they opened up an over priced disgusting tasting food. Love that this theme park also has a zoo even though most of the animals are no longer there.

Unfortunely all the park was not not fully opened because of the time of year.what was open was excellent.plenty of rides for the kids.would recommended to got later in the year when the park is fully opened

We surprised my nephew for his 4th birthday with a visit to Thomas Land on a family fun day offered by the park, this meant only Thomas land the zoo and the area by the lake were open but it was well worth the visit! We travelled from manchester so it was a 2hour drive but so worth it. Although busy waiting times really weren't that long and as most children as between 3-7 we found he easily chatted to others while waiting which was wonderful. All his favourite characters were there which he took delight in pointing out and are well maintained and true to the show. The Thomas Land park is mainly aimed at smaller children though. It is beautifully kept and I witnessed people sweeping up litter and empting bins.Staff really do go out of their way to make the kids feel welcome lots of smiles and high fives and always refer to the rides by their characters names (which I thought was a great touch) He had an accident towards the end of the day and the staff at the tea shop by the Zoo were fantastic aswell as the first aid team they called to check him over. They provided us with water and tissues as he'd cut his mouth and let us buy an ice lolly as the shop had closed and made sure we were seen by the first aiders who gave us a direction sheet and map to the local walk in centre.I can't praise it enough for younger children there were 3 adults with one child today and we've really enjoyed the experience!

The council's annual dinner dance was a disappointment (apart from the company, the music and my winning the raffle). The food was extremely dull (and that's compared to a recent series of airline meals), the service poor (desert served on a table where main course remains had yet to be collected up), and where the house wine was the poorest I've ever tasted (and I've tasted a lot of good house wines recently). Setting was fine, car parking good, WC excellent, but a poor meal that reminded me of school meals is just not appropriate these days. And most event catering is actually quite good these days, making this a throwback to less sophisticated days. I'd only return to the venue if the catering were addressed.
