This is a lovely small restaurant, serving a delicious and great value Sunday Lunch. There is no hesitation that we will return.
had a lovely meal with friends last Saturday, food very tasty, had the chicken stuffed with haggis. Main problem here is finding the place as the post code takes you two miles from the place. An A board sign at the village junction would help. It took us twenty minutes to find the place. Other than that excellent.
Four of us went on the 6th Feb. for the lunch menu. Good choice and very reasonably priced. Slight issue with my main course. Complete new meal bought back to me with profuse apologies and a deduction from the bill. Nothing to fault, so going back on the 20th.
When we dine out and give a review it is a rarity to give five star markings as it suggests complete excellence. Well, our first (but not last) visit earned excellence in every way. Firstly the staff - total customer focus in every aspect, a smile, a "can I help you" a " is there anything else you need" but without being pushy. Just brilliant, if any owner wants to know how customers like to be treated then bring them here. The staff genuinely looked like they enjoyed being at work and this makes a better customer experience. The food - the Sunday lunch menu has plenty of choice and starters of fish cakes were delicious, the turkey mains was very tender and along with roast potatoes additional veg was: cauliflower, broccoli, red cabbage, carrots, leeks, petit pois and beans. Yes you read it correctly seven veg with extra potatoes too.Pudding of chocolate cake topped with custard was superb. Will we go again? Let me think about this.......can't wait. One tip make sure you book as the place deserves to be packed every open minute. Just absolutely excellent and well done to the bar and serving staff they are a credit to the pub.
The last time I went to the Robin Hood the food was amazing, as it always is. We went for my mothers birthday and as there was a large number of us the staff did well to accommodate us and carried out very good service. The food all came out together which was impressive as there were over 10 of us and it was hot, we got lots of sides too veg and potatoes to share which was nice. I am vegetarian and never struggle to pick from the great range of options on offer from the specials. Last time I had he not roast which was fab! They also have jack rabbit wine which is a big tick as it is a personal favourite of mine. I will definitely go back again undoubtably!
What a fantastic meal at The Robin Hood. Good choice of starters, delicious main courses and sumptuous desserts. I recommend the baileys cheesecake....... we will be back, but not sitting by the fire! beware its warm.
Very disappointed, we ordered Hake oven baked with smoked bacon and spinach sauce , no hake left but the staff said the Cod would be the same. When my meal came it was a wet piece of cod swimming in a cheese sauce and a small amount of spinach, yes the portions are large but it is nice to have quality as well as quantity.
I visited The Robin Hood with my girlfriend and friends. We arrived slightly early and were informed that the table wasn't quite ready yet and were shown to the lovely bar area. We got drinks and were soon taken through to the restaurant to our table. The staff were great and very knowledgable of the menu and ingredients. The portions were huge and all 3 courses were of the highest quality and very tasty. Top marks to the chef and all the staff. Can't wait to return.
We visited the Robin Hood with friends who have re ently moved from York to Uttoxeter. We were made very welcome in this lovely inn. The food was absolutely great and plentiful, in fact we struggled to finish our pudding and had to take a walk, having enjoyed so much food.
Visited with my partner and our friends the Sunday in Christmas week for lunch. On arrival we were shown to our tables and provided with the Sunday lunch menu. Starters were ordered of soup and prawn cocktails for the table which were very yummy! The table ordered different Sunday roast and everyone enjoyed what they ordered, which were accompanied by an assortment of yummy veg (creamy leeks, new potatoes and greens). Initially the wrong meal had been brought out for one in our party but this was swiftly taken back to the kitchen and replaced with the beef that was ordered. The meal was delicious and homely. The desserts were different to those on the menu that we were originally provided with, which we were advised was because of it being Christmas, which was a little disappointing as I had ear marked the sponge pudding. I did have the lemon meringue however off the new desserts menu which was nice, although a little sharp if you just had the lemon section on its own, but lovely when eaten with the meringue and pastry. Everyone else enjoyed there desserts too.All in all a very enjoyable meal with friends... we would definitely return again.
The other Wednesday I was taking my wife for lunch at a nearby pub. When we got there we discovered it was closed at lunchtime. Luckily we remembered that we had passed the Robin Hood a mile or so back and would give it a try. We are glad we did! There was a fairly large car park that made parking easy. The pub had a small comfortable bar and a much larger restaurant. Both had open fires burning when we were there that added to the warm, cheerful and comfortable atmosphere. There was a special lunchtime menu at a bargain price. Although I didn't think it would be up to much we ordered off it. To our surprise the food was absolutely superb. I really mean excellent!! I honestly couldn't fault it. The chips were to die for too!The deserts were just as good as the main course and even the coffee was good. My wife even enjoyed a large glass of Shiraz for less than a fiver. The whole meal was a real bargain. The pretty freckled waitress was so good and attentive that she deserves an immediate promotion and pay rise. She is an absolute asset to the place. Even the pub Labrador adds to the charm.I would certainly return to eat there again. The only thing that that detracts from a perfect atmosphere are the low dining chairs. There are cushions around the place that you can sit on if you need a height boost at the table though. The cask ales in the bar were just very average unfortunately but I would certainly give them another try in case this was just an "off day" for them. The food and perfect service certainly makes up for the beer shortcomings on the day I visited. For good food at a bargain price in a pleasant environment, I can certainly recommend The Robin Hood in Bramshall!
We've eaten here a few times and our latest visit for Sunday lunch was as good as it's always been.Portions are generous so we went straight to mains of turkey and beef, both accompanied with an array of fresh and well cooked vegetables. Although I was as full as a butchers dog, a short respite and I was tempted by jam poly poly and custard which was well worth the visit alone!!There's always a choice of well kept ales and service is as good as it gets.Never disappointed, we'll be back.
Visit Robin Hood frequently and never disapointed . Excellent food , value for money and friendly staff. Never tire of this place
Excellent food and atmosphere have visited many times and always found the food and service spot on... would recommend
A lovely country pub / restaurant, somewhat difficult to find, but well worth the effort. The service is excellent, the food not only beautifully cooked & presented, but of ample proportions too.The interior is cosy and nicely "countryfied", the smell of the farmyard next door when approaching from outside in the car park, help give it that authentic feeling of genuine countryside !The Robin Hood is a gem, to which we'll certainly return again soon.JKW
