We were a large family party of varying ages there to celebrate a significant birthday. Suzanne and Mary made us very welcome and introduced us to the llamas and alpacas, pointing out their individual personalities, and happy to answer a variety of questions. We were then partnered up with a llama and went on a trek. On our return we given the opportunity to hold small animals; rabbits guinea pigs, chinchilla and ferret, and a small horse to groom. They provided us with a birthday party in a heated hut and all our dietary needs were met. Excellent value and a lovely experience.

This was my first experience of Llama trekking and it's safe to say it won't be my last! My girlfriend and I booked onto the half day trek which entailed a lovely walk around the beautiful surroundings (with a Llama by your side!), hot drinks and snacks half way through in some very picturesque woods all followed by a very generous spread for lunch. Suzanne was a great host and provided us with a whole host of information on Llamas and Alpacas and it is clear that she is very passionate about the care of these animals. We shared a Llama between us and were paired with Chester, who was hilarious with his humming and incredibly well behaved! All in all this was a cracking day out in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside and would highly recommend for all ages!

Had a truly fabulous time at Nidderdale llamas.Suzanne was the perfect host and looked after us brilliantly. We did the farm experience so spent lots of time meeting all the llamas and alpacas .We then took Gary Barlow, the singing alpaca!! and Chester the llama (what a gent) for a walk on the farm. We then got to meet and pet the rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchilla and ferret. We can't wait to come back and do the trek in the summer. I would highly recommend a visit to this wonderful place, we absolutely loved it

We went on holiday to the North York moors and as part of the week I had booked to do a farm trek with one pet each.We booked by phone and Suzanne was really helpful as we didnt have phone contact in our cottage and the internet was playing up so this was all a bit tricky. We found our way to the farm and I had not told my partner what the trip was all about for a surprise.Suzanne was lovely and told us all about the llama and alpacas, introducing us to each of them and telling us all about them. She was matching us up with them while we talked and decided that we would be best paired with Gary the alpaca and Toby the llama. Toby had taken a liking to my partner and I loved Gary and his little hums.We took them for a trek which even for me as someone quite unfit was ok, they walk fairly slowly. The farm can be muddy in parts so take proper strong boots. We stopped a few times so they can eat some grass. At times, they start being nosy about whats around, stopping to look over walls etc. They are fairly good with traffic, little Gary nuzzled into me as we waited for a car to go by on the road.Their little faces are unbelievable and the information Suzanne is able to give about their habits and lifestyle is really interesting, they are fascinating creatures. We are now completely in love with them of course and it was sad to leave them.We finished with tea and cakes in their shed and I bought a couple of alpaca fur hats.It was one of the best experiences ever.Interestingly, having got back home I did a search for something similar in our own area. There are a few but the reviews are not as good and the 'treks' seem nothing like what we did but for more money and shorter time, therefore although the initial price seems expensive it really is worth it, you wont regret it.

The best way to spend an afternoon! My boyfriend and I bought an experience for a llama each for the half-day trek for Valentine's Day and my birthday. Suzanne and all the staff gave us a warm and friendly welcome and we were introduced and matched to our llamas (Ike and Gus). All the llamas we trekked with were so much fun and had their own distinct personalities, and three/four hours just flew by while walking in the beautiful Dales! After the trek, Suzanne and the staff set up a delicious buffet and we could eat with the llamas. The best birthday yet, thank you so much Suzanne and the team! We will be back! :D

We went as a family yesterday to celebrate two of our birthdays. Had a fantastic day on the camalalid experience. Got paired up with Toby and Chester two amazing guys. Loved listening to Gary sing what a dude. Spent time with the small animals including a family of three baby guinea pigs. All in all a brilliant day, highly recommended. Thanks to Suzanne and the animal crew. Leighton family.

I bought a one-llama-between-two experience in gift vouchers for my llama-loving boyfriend's birthday last year. We got around to doing this yesterday and had one of the most amazing days ever! We arrived after a long drive to a beautiful, tranquil farm in the Yorkshire dales and were greeted and invited to come and see the animals while we waited for others who were on our tour. There we met the little ponies, alpacas and llamas and were given some great information about the differences between the two animals. We also learnt about the different and crazy personalities of each of the llamas which was brilliant before we were matched up to Jack, the hungry one! The scenery during the trek was beautiful and the llamas were amazing, friendly animals who loved to be stroked. The walk was wonderful and Suzanne was so kind and open, talking about the animals and the farm. It was great to see someone who was so passionate about the animals and what she does. It really was a fantastic walk which was finished off by a cup of hot chocolate and a cake as we watched the sun go down across the fields. I couldn't recommend Nidderdale Llamas more!

What a fantastic couple of hours! We (me, my partner and our 8 yr old daughter) went along to Nidderdale Llamas for the Farm Experience package - after me having received some vouchers for my birthday last year. We were introduced to the lovely llamas and alpacas and were able to stroke a few necks and then we took them out for a short stroll around the farm (no more than a few hundred metres but enough for little legs and some good photo opps with the guys!).We then got to meet the smaller animals and hold snakes, guinea pigs, a ferret and rabbits and groom the mud clumps out of a frisky pony's coat! Lovely! Our daughter enjoyed herself and soon got used to the llamas sniffing her and I also lobved it loads!Completely recommended for a fun day out and I would now loooove to go on one of the longer treks with a llama tour-guide in tow!

If you love animals you'll love this experience. I did the on farm Llama trek and was paired with Morgan, the Posh one! What a gent he is. An enjoyable few hours trekking around the farm and getting to know my new friend. Listening to Gary the Alpaca sing, learning about these lovely animals and experiencing the obvious passion Suzanne has for her Llamas made for a very enjoyable and memorable day.

This is the third time I've visited Nidderdale Llamas, but the first time I've done a full day trek. It really is excellent value, and I really love the fact that they offer different lengths and prices of trek/experience. Suzanne, Charlotte and Mary were wonderful - I am once again amazed by Suzanne's memory for names! - and the llamas are brilliant trek companions. All the couples/families participating were quite different people, but there is a llama for everyone! The picnic lunch was very impressive. A very memorable day.

Brilliant. I bought the half day trek as a present for my girlfriend and didn't expect to enjoy it that much myself. But It was a brilliant experience that everyone should try it. Thank you.

I had seen the piece about Nidderdale Llamas on The Dales and been dropping hints ever since so received vouchers for the half-day trek as a birthday present: to say I was excited is an understatement! I had checked out the llamas on the website and decided I really wanted Chester so I was thrilled when we were paired with him during Suzanne's speed-dating session. He was really well-behaved and would occasionally nudge us gently to remind us to keep stroking him. The half-day trek is just short of 4 miles through fields and on quiet roads and takes in beautiful scenery. We stopped half-way for drinks and biscuits - this was in woodland near a stream so I was glad I had applied insect repellent as there were a lot of midges. When we arrived back at the farm, there was a buffet and Suzanne had included both vegetarian and gluten-free food for guests with special dietary requirements. There's a small shop where you can buy llama-related items. We now know lots about llamas and I have been raving to anyone who will listen about our fantastic day out. It was a real priviledge to spend time with these lovely animals and we hope we will be back again in the not-too-distant future.
