利物浦图书馆2011年重新翻新,13年才正式开启使用,地点还是在老的中心文化区美术馆旁边,只是室内设计的很棒,螺旋楼梯,大量的图书和电子资源,而且最重要,免费对外开放!

The second floor is really fabulous! you can feel the book vibrance. There are a lot of space to inquire reading. Inside there was a nice exhibition for the 175 year of the philharmonic Hall. There is a really nice space for children in the ground floor. Don't forget to look at the ceil! To try!

Popped in for a cultural snapshot. My misses went bananas walking thru the Picton reading room. I just absorbed the ambience of silence and the smell of oak. Well worth the visit.

I work locally and visit here a lot. The library is a terrific place. Nice coffee shop downstairs, friendly staff and good choices. The Picton reading room is simply amazing

This is one of the highlights of a Liverpool city tour. The old frontage of the library has been preserved but inside has a wow factor. A huge spiral staircase with a giant glass dome ends on the roof with spectacular views across Liverpool. Don't miss the Oak room too, preserved in its original splendour.

Did you know if you join this library you can borrow books on your iPad without going into the library. After the lending period is over they disappear from your device. So no fuss, fines or problems. Fantastic service.

A beautiful and interesting building that mixes the old with the exciting new. Definitely worth a visit!

This is a great place to visit for all the family. The children section is well stocked, bright and cosy. We often visit during the school holidays and the children are treated to a high quality activity session. The staff are friendly and kind. My youngest son was delighted when a member of staff showed him how to use the self-service facility. The Picton Reading room is a treat. Children are fascinated by the Hogwarts appearance of the room. The rooftop area is not to be missed. A fantastic place to sit with your children, enjoy the view, share a book and relax with a tasty coffee from coffee shop.

I am a fan of libraries and this is one of my favourites. The building has a big central open area with Inception like stairways criss crossing up to a rooftop gallery. It's the only library I know that lets you on the roof and it's free! There is a massive selection of books as you'd expect from a city centre library. There is also a huge children's area and an amazing quiet reading gallery under a huge dome. Now I live in Liverpool I visit frequently and if I have visitors it's definitely part of the tour for them.

There is a very modern feel to this library once inside the building. There is a feint echo of the Guggenheim with it's design and architecture. Very tastefully done and very welcoming. Good cafe also.

Amazing, this library is enormous, make sure you go into the round room and up to the roof. We didn't use the cafe but it looked good and was reasonably priced.

In trying to view a hard copy of The Royal Commission's Report into Criminal Procedure chaired by Phillips and reporting in 1981' the library staff were unable to provide a copy but merely referred me to a xomputerised web site which inwas unable to access because i am not a member of the library. Asked how long it would take to become a member, i was firstly told itbwould be two weeks. On seeking confirmation with another member of staff later, i was told it would take two minutes if i had id.Very unsatisfactory. Government web sites assure researchers that thisnreport is available at all good libraries.........not my experience. At a time when we are seeing libraries closing left right and centre, this was a disappointment.

This library is exquisite. The stunning architecture both old and new is amazing. The ceiling is fabulous The facilities are excellent with full wifi access throughout the building, lots of computers and iPads available, with friendly helpful staff around. The archives are amazing but you may need to book for certain information.. Nice cafe area and wonderful roof terrace. The Hornby library and Oak room are fantastic, the Picton reading room is an eye opener, This library also has thousands of rare books with viewing available. There is so much contained in this library you have to see it to believe it.

Popped in after visiting the museum next door. We didn't have long to look around as we were waiting for the open topped bus, but we were just bowled over by the ceiling! You must go and see it! We will go back to look at it again it's so incredible and go up the stairs to have a closer look. We were told by someone in the library that it cost 4 million and 4 years to construct.
