Restaurants are amazing, people are friendly, area full of history, at time of visit the storks were hatching there eggs and the young birds were reaching up for food what a wonderful picture.

A nice atmosphere to have a drink and spend some time in this fabulous old town. Hopefully the tents will disappear soon?

The plaza major is very pretty and contains on old palace which is open to the public and an old church

And we agreed--it is quite large, populated with many distinct palacios of renaissance and baroque origin. There is a fine equine statue and some modern shops within the square as well. Quite grand!

Charming square surrounded by historic buildings and dominated by large equestrian statue of Pizarro. Plenty of bars and restaurants with outdoor seating around the square and a great place for a cervaza or tinto verano in the warmer months, equally beautiful in the colder months just less comfortable outside! Turns into a bit of a carpark at times during the weekdays, but still beautiful.

We walked into Burgos from the bus station after a long trip from the other side of the world (literally, we live in Honolulu) and, despite our extreme fatigue could not help but look about us in awe as we wheeled our luggage around in search of our hostal. My husband's first trip to Spain and Europe and we could not have asked for a more idyllic introduction.

Go beyond to the smaller plaza (adjacent to this) for a few good Tapas choices. The plaza that contained the Tapas restaurant choices put me in mind of Sant Marc's in Venice.

Time stands still in this place, with it's ancient buildings and columns. This is as traditional as you'll find .. untouched(ish) by time

Pleasant decor. Good, unpretentious Spanish food with a touch of creativity. The lamb was perfectly cooked. In general the menu combined traditional products prepared with sophistication. I would not hesitate to go back.

The Plaza Mayor was constructed by the Cardinal Mendoza in the 16th century. Its purpose was to house the Treasury, the City Hall and the market. The plaza is noted for its arcades and balconies. It was located at the southern side of the Cathedral and gave the Cathedral a better sight. The weekly market was held in it.

Peñaranda es un pueblo precioso, uno de los más bonitos de la zona. La plaza Mayor es muy bonita pero la organización en este pueblo se merece un cero.En primer lugar no entiendo que la oficina de turismo esté cerrada a las 12.30 de la mañana teniendo en cuenta que la señora que debería estar en la oficina es la que vende los tickets para visitar los distintos lugares.Otra cosa lamentable es que no se puedan visitar las atracciones turísticas si no somos mínimo 4 personas. Esta es una bonita forma de cuidar el turismo, así no dan ganas de volver ni de recomendar a nadie que vaya.La botica tampoco podía visitarse si no era con cita previa y la torre del castillo también estaba cerrada. Una lástima que un pueblo tan bonito no cuide el turismo.

Peñaranda de Duero é uma pequena vila medieval datada do século XVI que conserva suas origens. É como viajar na história. Vale muito a pena a visita ao Palácio Avellaneda, antiga residência dos Duques de Peñaranda. A arquitetura renascentista do palácio e seus detalhes são de tirar o folêgo, como as impressionantes abóbadas entalhadas em madeira, influencia da cultura árabe deixada na região.

Esta muy cerquita de Aranda de Duero y aprovechando la visita a las Edades del Hombre me acerque a ver este pueblo con la plaza y el Castillo que tiene unas vistas preciosas.Vale la pena y te mueves por la comarca viendo los viñedos

Me gusto la colegiata y el palacio de Avellaneda, a parte de La Posada Ducal.Las campanadas de la colegiata, suenan todas las horas

Un pueblo pequeño con gran encanto turistico Medieval. Un vermout en los alrededores de la Plaza que esta muy bien conservada , cuidada y limpia. Y muy recomendable si tienes mas tiempo de visitar el pueblo subir al Castillo.
