It is a great tour in any language. The guides are knowledgeable and fluent in many languages. You have to do the tower tour, the Juan II climb up those stairs... amazing view. The armory, the views, the people and around.Avoid the guy dressed as a Roman soldier outside the gates... Although Spain was Roman once, you don't need Romans here... go to Rome. Yet, if you want a picture with him, get ready to leave some money... nothing is free and he has to make a living.

What a historical monument of phenomal proportions ... the moat alone is spectacular - sure wouldn´t have wanted to be attempt escape from that castle!!! The exterior structure is beautiful ... the interior is grand! Such a MUST SEE / MUST DO!

Very stunning and impressive. If I could do it over again, I would have paid the extra for a guided tour to get a richer sense of the history. But a beautiful place to wander through either way!

The visit to Alcazar was especially meaningful to me. Over fifty years ago my great aunt came to Segovia to paint the castle. This painting now hangs in my Manhattan apartment. When planning my trip to Spain I knew this was a must see. The views were amazing, showcasing every part of Segovia from countryside to town center. The castle is well kept and numerous rooms are open to see. A must see while in Segovia!

well preserved, impressive collection of armor, art, incredible views. There is nothing not to like! Take the time to climb the Tower!

It looks to perfect, almost as though it's new. Wonderful views and very nice authentic furnishings.

We enjoyed all of the rooms that we were allowed to visit; the amount of history we learned, and the incredible views of the countryside and the gardens. This is an amazing place that transports one to another time and gives one a real feel for the era.A listening device was available for a minimal price in the ticket and a deposit. The descriptions on the device were a tad long for my taste, but my husband, an engineer, enjoyed all of the information on the building materials, etc. We arrived when it opened and were able to avoid the groups.

This alcazar is a good example of a fortt/residence/school that underwent a lot of changes over the centuries - enlargements, style changes and rebuilding after a fire. Great if you are interested in architecture.

We just returned from three weeks in Spain, during which time we visited several Alcazars. This was one of our favorites, partly because of its size. It is smaller than some of the others that we visited and is very well preserved. The views from the Alcazar are amazing. My husband included the tower in his visit and said it was worth the climb, with very good views as well. If you are visiting Segovia, I would definitely recommend that you include the Alcazar in your visit. Well worth the walk to the end of town.

The towers of this castle could be on the cover of a fairly tale book. I am not surprised that Disney modeled one of his castles after this. Aside from its looks, the castle is important historically. This is where Isabel first met Ferdinand. Their marriage created a unified Spain, a country that could afford to send Christopher Columbus on his expedition. The first part of the visit is the rooms that were used by the royalty. Unfortunately, there are no English signs here. Unless you rented an audio guide, came with you own guide, or researched before your visit, it would have been difficult to figure out the rooms. Fortunately, this was my second visit (my first was with a guide). Also, the previous night I had done some research on the Internet. The second part is about the Royal Academy which was housed here after it was no longer used as a royal palace. It was a prison after the royal family moved residence to Madrid. This part of the visit was interesting to my husband. There were old canons and armours. Lots of medieval weapons on display.I would recommend a visit to this castle because of the historical events that took place here. And because it is pretty.

We toured the inside, but only found a few rooms interesting. If you are pressed for time, skip the interior. You won't be missing much unless you are a real Spanish history buff.

I was expecting the fairy tale exterior and the great views, but I was bowled over the palatial interiors, which have been renovated to reflect the building's long history. There are no English signs in the rooms, so pick up an English guide when you buy your tickets.

Unbelievable 12th Century Castle. Bucket List Must See...Easy walk from the Segovia Cathedral. Be sure to visit the Tourist Center Restaurant there because there is a beautiful outdoor deck overlooking the Segovia countryside. Very quiet and relaxing where you can enjoy a bottle of wine and a snack

This by far was the highlight of our trip to Central and western Spain it must be a must on any trip to the area. The ceilings and rooms are unbelievable. If there is only one place you can take the time to see in the area this is it

If you like mediaeval armour and a castle feel this is the place to go. Much of it is a prototype but there are still original pieces such as a 15th century wooden chair which is the sort of thing that is difficult to preserve. The tower and view are impressive too. Book an audio in your language for just 3 Euros as this will give you many more details than you are able to find within the castle. The castle does look like you might imagine the castle where Rapunzel was held
