We played the course many times during our 6 week stay at Canela Beach & enjoyed it very much. The service & assistance given by the Hotel/Reception staff just gets better each time we visit. Nothing is too much trouble, even though the guests & golfers are from most of Northern Europe. The course was being improved during our stay, but the work didn't interfere with our pleasure. The workers were very considerate, making sure they didn't slow anyone down. They even gave us golf balls they'd found whilst working. The course was in good condition with most of the greens perfect. The old clubhouse is now used for "after golf" food & drink, a warm welcome awaits you! The Tapas & meals are wonderful, don't miss out on the opportunity. All in all, a nice course with very nice people running it.
Lovely setting for a restaurant but the food selection was appalling.Difficult to find something to eat from a very restricted menu. The owners need to think about their customers and not aim to produce way out weird dishes.Try the basics - meat fish and chicken
The setting of the hotels and apartments is amazing, really good staff in the hotel, golf course is very good and accessible and is a very pleasant walk away from the playa(beach) and ayamonte town centre
We played this four times during our recent holiday and found it to be in good condition. The greens were very receptive and in good condition, not the course fault that golfers cannot fix their pitch marksThe course was fairly long and has some tough holes on it.It is very flat and we walked every time we played it without any discomfort in the rising temperatures.I would recommend the course and will go back and play it againWe normally took around four hours to get round usually slowing up as we tired on the back nine in the heat
This is a testing course with difficulties that make it necessary to play the course strategic. The course plays long because of the hazards that you have to challenge or choose to lay up which gives you a long approach shot. The Par 5 second is tight, strategic and long! The clubhouse is lovely with friendly staff, good food and price quality is perfect. See you next time!
overall excellent. nothing to dislike. Veryhelpful staf. The venue golf andhotel very good. very relaxing
Love this place, great for families and couples. The harbour is very quite clean, 1 hour from Faro worth the journey.
The course is flat but some big bunkers in front of some greens means shorter hitters will struggle for par on them. The course has a slope of +4 so add 4 shots to your normal handicap
Liked the course very much- front nine difficult with several narrow fairways and several challenging for length water hazards. Completely flat course, back 9 more open, severalapartments based round the course but with careful planning to make it very visually attractive. We played as a 2 ball- only had one busy day where we had a 41/2 hour round out of 5. The greens are good and true but a bit grainy and difficult ! Our top score was 27 points- so not easy and we are 11 and 22 handicap. Buggies 36 euros. Really lovely little bar area near the first tee to have your ' where did we go wrong chat !'
Want to play great golf in the South of Spain? Go and play the Golf course of Isla Canela. Challenging course, in great conditions and lovely views of the town of Ayamonte.
good greens, varied holes with some water hazards. Pleasant bar to have a drink after and enjoyed the snacks as well. Staff very friendly.
Tight course in great condition. Greens are superb. Staff very helpful. Plenty of water. No rough needed because of trees and scrub on every hole.
Hubby played a round, very nice course but he said difficult the 1st few holes. He hired clubs,16 euros but half of them missing. We met him for lunch which was very good in Thybessum restaurant.
very good course very challenging ,lots of water to cross.club house very nice and staff very helpful.
We just played this course once but will go back again. Literally on the Portuguese border it as far south east as you can go in Spain. Much cheaper than Portugal. We used our two 4 one cards and paid only 54 euros for two of us.course is fairly flat but each hole is different with a number of risk and reward features. Very good use of the water inlets and there is even an English like obelisk on one hole. You have a free drop if you hit it! Course was very quiet and we went round in three and a half hours. Very enjoyable.
