We loved this place. Cost is 25 Euros pp. See fighting Bulls and Andalucian Horses in their natural environments. Learn about how the Bulls are raised, prepared and tested. Several opportunities to see them up close. Amazingly powerful and beautiful animals. We also loved the horses running around the ring set to Spanish music. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable.
Beautiful place. A lot of good history. Great displays. Get the listening device to direct you and teach you what you are seeing. Very much worth it. Plan to spend more than an hour.
This is a def must see. Allow a whole day to visit all the sights in Ronda and google it before you go so you know what you want to do. Will def come back and visit the places we didn't have time for
An extremely clean and well kept farm where we were able to see many bulls and beautiful thoroughbred horses. We started walking which was a wonderful way to be close to the animals in their beautiful natural setting. Unfortunately it began to rain heavily and we finished the tour by bus. Once inside we saw a demonstration of bull fighting techniques and had a chance to handle the capes that are used. We learned about the training process for the matador ( 5 hours a day with extremely heavy capes). We also learned about the horses used by the picadors. In another building we saw models of famous bull fighting rings constructed of cork. Rafael the bullfighter was charming and informative. He showed a side to bullfighting culture in Spain that we had never thought existed..one of love and compassion. While I still would not feel comfortable seeing a bull killed in the ring with the crowd cheering, I was glad to see the care given to the breeding and care of these magnificent creatures while living here. As part of a tour group of 14 we were served an excellent lunch of traditional food. We enjoyed every moment of this tour
we usually visit the bullrings, and we know a lot about bullfighters, but what about the bulls...where here we can learn about this amazing animals, a tour of about 1 hour to understand this animals life. really interesting tour in this enormous finca close to ronda full of wild bulls and horses.
Yesterday, through the tourist information office, we met Gloria and went with her to a bull and horse ranch just outside of Ronda. It was a great activity. In addition to touring the farm, we met the owner Rafael Tejada as well as the main person for raising and training the Bulls and horses used in bull fighting. I highly recommend this outing to anyone who has more than a couple of days visiting the area.
The horse and bull ranch at Reservatauro Ronda was an eye-opening experience for me. I had never understood the grace and artistry of bullfighting--and the extremely hard work it takes. Toreador Rafael is the epitome of calm courage, compassion, and passion for his animals and his profession. (He left being an engineer to buy this expanse of charming land.) I was in a group of 40 and we were constantly amazed as one revelation after another unfolded. The animals--bulls, cows, pigs and the lovely little Kiwi the dog--are cared for with respect and understanding. At 7 months, Kiwi has already learned to help herd the bulls and is a buddy (along with a sheep) for the high-spirited picador horse. We learned about the breeding (one bull works hard for 6 months and then rests for 6 months!) and selection of fighting bulls. Yes, the end comes for the winner of the selection, but it is a glorious end. I never could understand that before. I am a vegetarian because I can't bear to think of what happens to animals we use so carelessly for meat. These bulls have a very different life. I still feel for what happens to them, but I now can relate to the "sacrifice" of a noble animal carried out by a noble "warrior." We had a lovely and sophisticated guide and were entranced (from behind protective barriers) by the actions of the picador horse and the stirring music. I will never be quite the same after visiting Reservatauro Ronda. Bravo!
Like others, I have no desire to see a bull fight. However, I think to have any understanding of the Spanish culture, one needs to attempt to see this "art" through their eyes. These animals, cattle and horses, are loved and well cared for. The guide and owner were incredibly gracious. I am so glad we went, even paying for the taxi to take us from Ronda. There were only four of us on the tour, while we saw hundreds of people touring the empty bullring in Ronda. Like most things, the roads less traveled are the most unique and interesting.

We had a lovely guided tour on the estate. We saw young bulls, pigs, horses, ... All involved with breeding fighting bulls. The owner showed us the grounds, stables, and gave us a taste of rural spain. The owners dog was a big attraction getting bulls to run around whilst the owner was semi fighting on a horseback. The guided tour was excellent. We learnt a lot about bull fighting in spain and we do not find it so cruel now. A great experience
What an amazing experience to visit this 500 acre bull breeding farm. I had declined the opportunity to attend a bullfight but now have a better understanding of the culture. We learned about the breeding of the bulls. The horses, pigs and cows live in the most wonderful environment where acorns serve as a primary source of food. Our guide was extraordinarily knowledgable and personable as she explained the life cycle of the animals and this pesticide free preserve. This is one of the major highlights of our trip to Spain. A peaceful day.
We went there in mid June. We absolutely love it. Not that we are big fan of bull fighting, however, the tour gave us a glimpse of the other side of the chain which we find very interesting. Apart from learning a few new things, we love the animals, in particular, some of the horses, Rocky, and Pimiento!
We are very sorry not having been able cover your expectations, Reservatauro is a breeding farm for fighting bulls and Andalusian horses with an area of approximately 200 ha. Unlike in a zoo the animals have not locked for the enjoyment of visitors. We only try to share with all guests we receive on farm this privileged environment, where it’s the homeland from the fighting bull and its secrets. A nearly inaccessible world. We ensure that most of the time all the animals are along the route, but we have to bear in mind that they live on free in nature, which is for us cause for pride.Again we want to apologize to you and we have solved the online booking. We are sorry that it wasn’t enough our intention to compensate you. We thank you for your opinion because it helps us to be better.
Was a little pressed for time to get back to Marbella..but went in anyways. Was well worth it great to walk in a place with so much history and culture of the region.
We went to the Reservataura because my 13 yo son. My wife is an avid animal lover and does not approve of bullfighting. We went on our tour with Gloria, who was fantastic. She explained how the bulls are raised in a loving, ecologically friendly environment. She also explained in a clear, concise way, the whole process of birth to the ring for these bulls. We got to pet some horses and get up close to the bulls. In the end we had a greater understanding of the loving ways the animals are cared for and the reverence they have for the bulls. If you need someone to speak English, Gloria is your person. She made the experience fun and highly educational. It was very evident that she loves the animals and her job. We all came away with a new understanding of bullfighting.
