Quirky modern structure well hidden by surrounding buildings. 3 euro entry but this includes a free drink in one of the nearby bars. Roof walkway has good views in all directions. Entry location not obvious - take ramp down to find entry booth and lifts
Metropol parasol is worth sparing some of your precious time in Seville, if you can. The structure is really impressive and it is also exciting to go atop to enjoy the views. Don't forget to get your free drink with your ticket at the designated nearby cafes.
The architecture of the Metropol Parasol is not appropriate for the neighborhood, which has traditional architecture. I wish that this structure was placed in a more modern neighborhood instead of this neighborhood. Most of my friends who are Sevillanos are angry that this building cost them 100 million euros and now they have to pay for it.
Seville's evening beauty can be seen from the top of the MetropolPurchase a ticket downstairs, then take the elevator to the topWalk around the winding path (similar to a water slide) and take photos of Seville as the sunsets
Small admission charge is worth it for the unusual experience of walking around atop the "mushroom" (a/k/a "parasol"). Views are extensive and provide 360-degree panorama of the city with signage to indicate what you're seeing in each direction. Also fun at night, when the bases of the pods are illuminated with blue lights, making it a very unusual landmark in the historic city center.
Defiantly a work of art and very futuristic looking.A place for youngsters to hang out.Not sure it fits in with the rest of Seville.
There'll always be debate about building abstract, newer architecture, some times the product looks good and blends in with the surroundings, at other times you end up with Metropol Parasol. It sticks out like a sore thumb in the beautiful part of old town. What's worse is it cost over €100mn and holds an antiquarium had showcases excavations found during laying of its foundation and a market along with a restaurant viewing gallery. I think this sight is a strict avoid unless you are in its vicinity and want to see it.
Like a lot of sights has to be included in the tour. Very impressive building/sculpture. Lovely area around the sight, with bars, steps etc to take a rest, take in the atmosphere and scenery.
We really loved this as it is so unusual and never seen anything like it before in any other city. It was lovely to have the choice of going to the market or sit in the shade underneath or walk the top of the parasol. The views were amazing and at a cost of 2 euros to get to the top, which included a free drink, I think it was pretty good value for money. It was also in a very cultural area with some hip shops & art so you could spend a bit of time there.
Lots of controversary over this structure. I liked it and it had great views of the entire city on the top.Market underneath was small but ok.
It is a bit out of place in such a lovely old city but I did enjoy this feature. The walkways give a great view around the city and was most impressive at twilight as all the lights around the city were coming on.
Once you have had your fill of Seville's amazing historic buildings and architecture, this is something completely different! Modern and out of character this mushroom as the locals call it covers the fantastic indoor food market, main road and square. There is a walkway across the top of the Parasol with fantastic views over the city. A must day or night.
The price of this hidden gem of an attraction was brilliant and the views/juxtaposition of architecture makes for some wonderful photos. Recommend it goes on anyone's list
