It was so much fun I loved it I would go back any time! My freinds and I had lots of fun I think it's for all AGES and Grades
Huge - lots of fun and a great dog park next door. My 2 1/2 granddaughter loved it. Park is divided into areas according to age group. Sheltered picnic spots too.
has lots of different, interesting stuff for kids to climb on and do. has a separate toddler area for smaller kids. bathrooms not close by. hardly any shade.
Like. Previous reviewed said. This park is off of whit davis. My kids had a blast! A pretty good sized play ground for all ages.
To spare you the ridiculous search it takes someone new to Athens to find this place:You get there from Whit Davis Rd, NOT Lexington Dr. Whit Davis is the one that ends at the Walmart before you get to the park entrance on Lexington.Whatever you do, don't put the address in your GPS, put the name of the park instead.
I had my sisters children with me-6 children ranging from 15 months to 13 years old and ALL had a great time playing on this playground. It was not crowded at all and is big enough for the older ones to run around. It has a TOT area, so that was nice for the younger three. They all had a fun time. We even went a mile away for lunch and came back to play some more. They do have a restroom on the premises and a picnic shelter as well.
We were able to help build this playground and have enjoyed it every year with our kids and their friends. Plenty to do and space to run around.
There are a lot of great spaces in this playscape, with places to hide, climb and swing. There is a separate small child area that is easy to observe and contain a wild toddler like mine. I have fun chasing my kids through the stairs, bridges and monkey bars of the structure and they love that they can maneuver more easily because they are small. The down side is the lack of shade of any kind for kids or parents. Odd for a playground in Georgia. The water is outside the playground and is a challenge if one kid wants water and the other wants to stay. It also is turned off in winter. It is hard to keep an eye on a group of kids because of the area inside and outside the fence. Some of the most fun attractions are outside, but you can't watch kids in both places. Other than that, the playground and park are great. The bathrooms are clean and there is a great little trail through the woods. My kids love to run in the tall grasses next to the playground.
My sons liked to play Hide and Seek here. The heat can be really strong, as there's no shade, except under the shelters. The bathroom is a good walk away. It's an excellent playscape, though, especially for pirate ship minded individuals!
World of Wonder is an excellent playground, with age-appropriate play equipment for ages 2-12 (though my 14 year old still likes going every now and then as well). The playground is well-maintained, with bathrooms that are relatively clean considering they are open to the public. There is also a dog park, as well as a trail to the nearby skateboard park. The only complaint I've ever had about the park is that there is little to no shade, so if you're visiting in June-September, you may want to limit your visit to early morning or late afternoon, as mid-day can be sweltering.
After one visit, my kids placed this playground in their "Top 5." They want to return with a group of friends to play hide-and-seek among the different sections and levels. The playground structure itself is phenomenal, but it is positioned in the open sun. The kids got hot quickly. We made use of the shaded picnic shelter to cool down. First time visitors should know that this playground is inside the Southeast Clarke Park. (The official address is available on the Athens-Clarke County parks and rec website). Unfortunately, it seems that a car is necessary to access this location.
We enjoyed this playground. It is very nice and well maintained. I am not sure that it lives up to its name. It is an average playground that seemed to always be busy when we drove by. There is nothing wrong with it, just not quite the "wonder" I was expecting.
I really like this playground because not only does it have a lot of sections that a child can play in, it also have a little picnic/sitting area beside the playground. There is also another picnic/sitting area that is on the other side of the parking lot. I also like how there are different spots on the playground of different artwork from children.
This is a free, community-built, playground. It is very large and has lots of apparatus for kids to swing from, climb, etc. It is appropriate for toddlers as well as older children, probably up to 10.
It's a nice playground for Athens, but not centrally located, and not "special" compared to other community playgrounds we've been to.
