Very casual atmosphere and loved it. Sat out on the deck with our tasting and a cheese and meat tray. Really nice end to a day of wine tasting. I think the atmosphere created a very social experience.
I went with a group of friends on our winery tour and this was the best! The staff was super friendly, price was great, drinks were all wonderful. We had a great time and enjoyed the live music. I will definitely come back again. I recommend th is winery because it is a really relaxed atmosphere, great people and southern hospitality at its best!
Family winery that made us feel incredibly welcome. Owner took the time to explain each wine and the history of the winery. Made our day!
Cavender Creek was our first stop on our Georgia Wine country adventure. We we charmed by the rustic, informal tasting room. The retired school teacher (the owner?) talked to us about his process and was so interesting. He seemed willing to have us there as long as we wanted. We enjoyed our time there and talked about how kind and welcoming they were off and on the rest of the day. Not all the wine is muscadine grapes but it was my first time to taste muscadine wine. It was really good! Sweet, but good for lots of times!
We visited 3 different wineries in Dahlonega, and this was the only one where we actually felt comfortable. The host was a great fellow, very knowledgeable about the processes and the product. Samples were 4 for $5. This is a very small winery, but guess what - out of the 3 we visited, this was the only one where my wife want to buy a few bottles. The host sent us down to the lower level to see how the wine was made, and the owner and his helper were down there working. The owner gave us a tour and explained everything about it. It was fascinating. I don't even drink wine, but found it quite interesting. If you only visit one winery in Dahlonega, this is by far the most authentic example of a small-time vintner.
I can't tell you how good the wines are, so my review is about the facility. This place looks more like a moonshine still where they happen to grow wine grapes. There's a dusty dirt/gravel road that winds up and the views are nice. But, it pales in comparison to Wolf Mtn.
Grab a glass or do a tasting in this fun vineyard. Live music on the weekends and the dogs and donkeys are truly a site. Love the wines here :-)
This winery is plain fun. It's a little off the path but don't miss it. The wines are good and the staff makes tasting fun. It's big enough for a large group.
We love the atmosphere at this winery! I have been multiple times and the staff is always extremely friendly. They take the time to explain all the wines. You often see the dogs hanging out in the tasting room as well, so cute! Tasting prices are very reasonable. I LOVE the peach and blackberry wines! We have been to most in the area and this is definitely a favorite!
This is a new winery and has some growing up to do. The cost to taste was 3 for $5. I was not impressed with the wines I selected. My son enjoyed the Blackberry so we bought 1 bottle. I usually buy 6 or more.
This is a small family winery in N GA. The ambiance and atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, my preferred tasting room experience. Wines are OK. If you want to have a good chat and relax in the country, this is a great candidate.
We popped in to Cavendar on a Friday pm as it was v close to our accommodation. It was quiet, unhurried and the manager was outgoing and informative. We tried 4 wines from the list for $5 each, and he talked us through each wine. Not much in the way of dry whites, quite a short list but it's a small vineyard with some interesting wines to try. We saw several locals on return visits whilst we were there.
This is a great place. After the tasting, we enjoyed a glass of wine on the back porch with a view of the donkeys and the fields. Everyone was nice and it was a very relaxed, laid back atmosphere. The price of the tasting and the glass of wine was very reasonable.
The staff are so friendly, and the atmosphere is perfect for a relaxing afternoon. Their wines are delicious, and the grounds are beautiful. We enjoy spending a few afternoon hours on the back porch and soaking up the great weather. I highly recommend Cavender Creek!
Tracy was very patient and provided education on 11 types of wines, ranging from reds to whites. Great place to taste wine and relax.
