I love this place & my kids loved it. Nice people, clean beach, & great hot dogs in the concession stand. Don't know what the one review was talking about drunks hanging out there & bud light cans. I was there the entire 4th of July week because I was off work. I mean every day open to close & anyone that looked that way was told to leave. The sand is brought in they let your kids play in it am build sand castles like everywhere else, but I'm sure there's red mud under it somewhere it's Georgia. And I did see one kid get in trouble for digging holes too deep. the owner asked him & his mom not to dig to the mud. but it I'm sure was because they had a huge fold up metal shovel digging the heck out of a spot on the beach. So maybe that was the same Lady?? Ha. Anyway, fun family location to hang out in summer. Been here since 1961 & before that the owners dad had a place in Braswell (up the road) from 1925-53. So they've been here locally for YEARS. It's a Landmark in Rockmart!!

We live about 10 minutes from Coot's so we go many times a year. Coot's is a small lake with a sand beach. Theres a platform in the deep area to jump off of, but most of the swimming area in the lake is shallow, say 5 foot or less deep for the most part. There is a covered picnic care to eat on picnic tables. Grills are supplied and have there own area but bring your own charcoal/lighter fluid, beach chairs and umbrellas are also supplied. The music is kept to a reasonable level and is typically country or classic rock. Some food can be bought at the consession stand (hotdog, nacho and ice cream) but we usually bring something to grill and some chips. So pack the cooler and come have a ball!

We've come here several times. We ride the Silver Comet on our bikes and we leave a car at this spot as a shuttle back to our launch spot. This lake is a great place to swim, eat lunch (you can bring your own), recuperate after your ride, and chat with your friends. The owners are nice and they don't allow ANY horseplay. That's a good thing because it keeps the place peaceful and all the swimmers safe. I will be back!

The owner is afraid that kids are going to dig holes. It says on the web site no alcohol but there was trash cans filled with BUD LIGHT nothing but drunks in public.

I have visited this lake many time over the years. I only live about 30 miles from there. On my last visit, I noted that the lake and beach were in need of repairs. The beach is almost gone. Also, beware when in the water, the fish in the lake love to nibble on you. The Staff here is very friendly.

Service was great. Price was reasonable. The sand was great and water beautifully clear. My two young daughters loved it. They have umbrella to sit under which was a big plus!

This is going to sound like an ad for Coot's, but I LOVE THIS PLACE!! I take my kids here like 30 times or more each summer. If you want a hometown swimming hole. This is it. Its old fashioned fun and privately owned. Cheap entry fee to the park $5 & $2.50. No season passes. No parking fees. They sell T-shirts. A large wooden dock to swim to and jump off of or sunbathe on. First come first served beach umbrellas & adarondack chairs with NO rental fees. CLEAN White sandy beach. Its very clean because they dont allow pets, require you to eat in their open pavillion on the tables provided and require smokers to use an ashtray (metal dogbowl). Basic common courtesy, clean up after yourself, is stressed. Understandable. Park grills for use in the back. Plenty of large picnic tables. Regulation size beach volleyball pit. Concession stand has excellent hot dogs & nachos & other goodies. The chocolate candy is kept in the fridge so they dont melt! You CAN BRING YOUR OWN FOOD & COOLER! Just dont bring glass or alcohol and they wont have a problem. This is great because with 3 kids you heve to have cold drinks & bottles ready. The bathrooms are usually clean, but could use a little update. They have a general radio station playing usually old rock, 50's or country. If the owners daughter is there she usually has Star 94 or top 40 playing. Ha. We would love to hear more modern top 40 though. It is next to a Silver Comet Trailhead so its easy to ride your bike from Dallas, swim, & then have a ride back. (= I give it 4 out of 5 stars!

I made several trips to Coots Lake Beach this summer with my 10 year old twins. Even though our neighborhood has a pool my kids much prefer the beach at Coots Lake. The dock for jumping into the water, the sand volleyball court, the picnic areas, and the concession stand make for a wonderful day. We pack a big lunch and stay all day.

Traveling out of Dallas, Georgia on Hwy 278 going west, right after Dallas and right before entering Rockmart, there on the right side of the road is a wonderful lake. I think it is called Coots Lake and it must be a private lake that charges admission for use of the beach. It is peaceful, restful and certainly one of Rockmart's best kept secerts.
