I learned a lot more about onions than I ever thought possible ! Vidalia onions are grown in a special type of soil only found in this area of South Central GA. That's what makes them SO good !

My husband and I stopped and visited the museum. The hostess was very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our time there. The mascot, Yumion, was really cute.

We enjoyed our stop here. Learned about the onions and the area, enjoyed the displays, and the museum staff were friendly, helpful and interesting. They even even offered to shoot photos of us plucking some onions out of the ground in front of the museum! A fun stop between Atlanta and Savannah.

Vidalia is famous for their sweet onions and if you visit in season they always have a sack of onions open so you can take some! The tour is free and gives you true insight into how the land and climate makes Vidalia the perfect place to grow low sulfur sweet onions.

Thanks for stopping by to see us and thanks for the stellar review. We hope that you come back again in April for the harvesting and the Vidalia Onion Festival. Until then, safe travels!

Not a big deal, but if you are passing through, it is worth a 30 minute stop. Friendly staff, and clean bathrooms.

We were coming back from a trip to Savannah and decided to check out Vidalia Georgia and the farms where the famous onions come from. We were really glad we did. We bought some great relish items, and a bag of onions, but the highlight was the young lady that went out of her way to give us directions to take pictures of the onion fields. What a sweetheart she was. I would highly recommend the Vidalia Onion Factory if you are in the area, or even if your not. ;0)

We stopped by the museum looking for some local informaiton. We were impressed with the amount of information that is packed into such a small area. The displays were done exceptionally well and contained quite a bit of local history. The people at the museum were very friendly and extremely helpful. For history buffs this is a good stop.

Love the sweet onion and now we know how and why it is so popular. This museum was a delightful little find.

Love your town! Maybe get the Onion Factory (part of you?) a jack-up. The service that side should be better for such a great tourist attraction.

Even though it is small in size, the Vidalia Onion Musuem in Vidalia, Georgia is worth the visit. It is interesting and educational and free! Believe it or not, there is a bit of history to be learned about this special onion. The onions growing out front are hard to resist harvesting. Make a stop on your way through town. You'll enjoy your time there.
