There's not alot to do in Albany, so this was one of the choices. Nice place to visit. I recommend wearing comfortable shoes.

The FlintQuarium is amazing! We took the kids ranging from 7-21 and everyone had a blast including the kids in us(adults)! They had amazing age appropriate activities planned, the exhibits were interesting and visible for all to see at different angles, the hands on discovery stations to the indoor cave funhouse will keep them entertained and wanting to go through again and again! The spectacular dive show to the colorful calms of the aviary were captivating! All of the ooooouu's,ahhh's...and the look mom and dad! brought so many smiles and warmed our hearts! I can go on and on about this attraction, but I must say that the staff was very knowledgeable, patient, respectful and showed true Southern hospitality!I hope your family will visit Albany,Georgia and experience what the "Good Life City" has to offer!

Off the beaten path but worth a visit. Not very busy but has a lot to look at. My family found it fun and educational. Once you are done with the Riverquarium and the IMAX movie you can take a stroll along the Flint River. The river walk is nice. The only downside is the facility is not that big.

I don't judge aquariums until I go myself because they are so different from each other no matter the size. Flint River is great. They have a bit of everything and if you look long enough you'll see things you weren't expecting. From the large windowed tank with the fish bigger than my three year old to the nursery where they had shark eggs and pups, we had a great time. It is broken up from different tanks of fish and other water life to learning centers to an aviary. Over all we had a great experience and a lot of fun.

Really very well kept area with numerous animals to see in large containers. Big glass aquariums with so many things to see. Loved the huge turtle and the albino gator !!!

If you have never been to an aquarium this is a must visit. Not very large but very informative as the whole is set up to replicate the lower Flint river. I was mildly impressed with the visit. Albany has done quite a bit with their downtown and the Flint River park and aquarium is a great addition.

Great little aquarium in the middle of no where. Had a great time. Love that there was interactive things to do. Clean facility.

Took the little one (3 at the time) and he had the best time. Not at all like a regular aquarium and it is fairly small but still fun and educational. We really enjoyed the birds out back and watching the staff feed the alligators.

Being from Kansas my teen daughter really enjoyed the displays as some of the fish & animals were new to her. Yes, compared to the Atlanta aquarium it is small but we enjoyed our visit. This was a nice small town aquarium. No diver or staff interaction while we were there. Don't know if it's worth a second visit.

Nice, great place for kids to visit, a little pricey for the area, need to offer coupons or buy get one to help people afford the admission price

The reviews I read we all right !! very Interesting and held the attention of our grandchild. The diver was very interesting !!! Parking was a plus and free!! It was just big enough to enjoy and the grandchild not to get tired!!! The Albino Alligator was cool as she had never seen one!! The birding Avery was interesting and the diving duck was funny!! We will be back to take other grandkids or just by ourselves!!!

I recently visited the Flint RiverQuarium based on reviews here and it definitely lived up to its promise. The aquarium is ideal for couples with young children, or just a couple on a day trip or afternoon date. Like other reviewers said, it is a smaller aquarium than you may have visited in the past, but remember, good things come in small packages! The center of the museum is a water habitant for all sorts of marine life. At the surface, you can see turtles and other wildlife. At the next level below, you can see plenty of fish of all shapes and sizes. At an even further level below, you can see all sorts of life...including humans! Make sure you are there while there is a feeding going on. While we were there, two divers fed the fish. It was fun to watch, and cool to see how children of all ages enjoyed this. The RiverQuarium also has a small outdoor aviary, and it was cool to be able to see a particular species of bird constructing her nest in one of the trees, piece by piece. There are also alligators, including a rare albino alligator. The aquarium cost us (two adults) $27 for admission to the aquarium and also to see an Imax movie. This cost was after a AAA discount. Please remember to ask for the discount. I didn't see an AAA signs at the ticket booth or on the main entrance door, so I assumed they didn't have one, so I didn't ask. Luckily, the lady working behind the ticket booth asked if we had a military ID or AAA card.We saw the Imax film "Fire Ants" while there. The movie theatre seems to be a newer facility than that of the aquarium. I thought it was strange on a Saturday afternoon that we were the only two in the theatre to watch this. It was freezing cold in the theatre. The show was ok, fairly interesting, but not nearly as good as some of the other Imax movies I have seen in the past. I couldn't wait to leave so I could thaw out, honestly; it was that cold! All in all, definitely a wonderful visit to the aquarium. There is free parking along the street that runs perpendicular to the museum; which is the street parallel to the river.I suggest you also visit Cool Scoops ice cream / coffee shop aross the street from the museum and take a stroll down by the river to catch the view; further down the river and across from a large hotel is the Ray Charles statue, which is definitely something to see!Be careful of your surroundings though; while the city seemed safe in the daylight, there were lots of police on patrol by ATV. There seemed an unusual amount of homeless people milling about and a friend told me at night, there is unfortunately a lot of gang violence in this area. Don't let this deter you; we had no issues at all. There were plenty of families and other tourists milling about, and ALL of the people we encountered, whether on the street or in businesses, were extremely helpful and exceptionally friendly.

The aquarium tells the story of the Flint rivers journey through Ga to the Gulf of Mexico. They have a nice collection of fish, turtles and alligators. They also have an aviary. During the weekends they have an IMAX theatre showing wild life movies. The best feature is the blue hole, especially when there is a scuba diver feeding the fish.

The aquarium is nice and well maintained. During the week, the aquarium doesn't offer anything more than admittance. The aquarium offers a little room with two interactive games and a small crawl-thru play area for toddlers. It takes only about 1 hour to read and view the exhibit descriptions and play the two games. The cost to view the aquarium is $9.00 per person. If you are already in the Albany area then it is a good little outing but I wouldn't drive over an hour to visit it.The aquarium doesn't have the traveling exhibits any longer. The aquarium only shows the movies on the weekends. The special feeding programs are only offered on the weekends.
