Jane's Attic stands in the Tubac Plaza, slightly off the town's beaten track. But this small secondhand shop is definitely worth seeking out if you're looking for bargains. It offers vintage and consignment clothing as well as books, CDs, furniture, jewelry, shoes, and much more. Some price tags I noted on a recent visit were lamps for $45 and $60; a Gap hat, $12; throw pillows, $8-$18; picture frames, $8 and $12; and a pleated black and red scarf for $16. These are not rock-bottom prices, but certainly good buys compared with regular retail shopping. On my stop, I was looking for a a decorative wooden box in which to always store my car and house keys, which seem to disappear more and more frequently lately. I looked at several, including a lovely one in beautiful condition for $8, but it wasn't quite large enough. We interacted with one employee and she was friendly and helpful. I would definitely return to this establishment, based on the items available and the staff service, on my next Tubac visit.
About a year ago on one of our many trips to Tubac, we wondered into Janes and found a delightful store. Run by an equally wonderful woman named - you guessed it... Jane! She has the best eye for values and designer items including clothing, shoes, bed linens, antiques, kitchenware and all around useful fun things that you actually need! I could decorate a whole room from Janes! If you get to Tubac, do not miss this opportunity to have a little fun and enjoy spending your money! We hadn't reviewed it til now, but just arrived back home and hung our nifty Mexico pottery plate that we bought for a song at Janes Attic!
I love this store! I loved the town too but this was a place I could wander and actually afford to buy something. It's run by a delightful woman named Jane and she has exquisite taste! Gently used designer clothes, wonderful jewelry, and there was an oil painting on the wall I had to have. She shipped it for me, I certainly wasn't looking to purchase an oil painting for my house back in the northwest but after seeing such lovely art at all the galleries in town and then finding something at Jane's Attic that was flawless and 1/4 the price... I had to do it. I almost bought a pair of bergere chairs as well since they were so affordable and looked brand new but maybe I'll just wait until I finally move to Tubac someday. Really should, what a wonderful town.
